12/08/2026: 1 star – Extremely rude and disrespectful treatment I am extremely disappointed and angry about the way I was treated at Wan Fu Chinese Restaurant in Cobh. On Monday, 10 August 2026, at around 7:00 pm, my partner and I had dinner at the restaurant and spent €49. The following day, at around 1:30 pm, we were walking through Cobh and passed the restaurant again. While my partner was deciding whether we would go inside, I briefly entered the restaurant to ask to use the toilet. I was approached by an Asian female employee wearing glasses and with short blonde hair. I mention this description simply to make clear which employee I am referring to. She immediately told me, in an extremely rude and unfriendly manner, that I could not use the toilet because it was only for customers. I explained that I had been a customer the previous evening and that we had spent €49 at the restaurant. Instead of showing any understanding, she asked me whether I wanted to buy a soft drink. I found this attitude absolutely disgraceful. When I questioned her, she told me that if I wanted to use a toilet, I should go and find the nearest public toilet. The problem is not that I was told “no”. The problem is the way I was treated. If the restaurant has a policy that only customers can use the toilet, it could have been explained politely and respectfully. Instead, I was treated with unnecessary hostility and contempt, even after explaining that I had been a paying customer the previous evening. I have lived in Ireland and have experienced genuinely difficult situations here. On many occasions, Irish people have helped me, supported me and treated me with kindness and humanity. In numerous Irish establishments, I have been treated with understanding when I was in a vulnerable situation. I have never experienced this level of rudeness and hostility in an establishment in Ireland before. I want to be clear that I am describing the individual employee involved in this incident and I am not suggesting that her behaviour represents Asian or Chinese people in general. It does not. This review is about her conduct and the way she chose to treat me. Respect and basic human dignity should not depend on whether someone is purchasing a soft drink at that exact moment. I left the restaurant extremely upset and disappointed. A business can enforce its rules without humiliating people. A simple refusal can be communicated with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, that basic courtesy was completely absent from my experience at Wan Fu. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

04/08/2026: Very good service. Only people dining in. Waitress was very nice. Will be coming back. Dont know what the 1 star reviewers are smoking.
