07/11/2024: Great food, specialist in sea food options, but other options also, great service

27/10/2024: 1st time to visit, won't be the last Went for a late lunch. Our visit started with a great welcome at the door they had seats available, so no wait. Our waitress was so nice and friendly. Food came relatively quickly and was as described on the menu, plus it was really, really good quality and tasted great. Great venue will be back.

20/10/2024: I went here recently with my special needs class and it was fantastic. I let the staff know we were coming the next morning and as we were group of about 14. They had arranged the tables to facilitate us. The café itself is very small so I really appreciated that they had prepared for us. The menu is really good and the crepes with just sugar or chocolate are under 10 euros which is great for children who aren't spending too much. The staff were super friendly and patient with my students so they had really nice experience. The food is excellent. It's a very small café so it isn't really wheelchair accessible and it has a step to get into the café. The toilet is down a stairs. Honestly it would be great if it was a little more wheelchair friendly as my class had such a wonderful French breakfast. Thanks for the experience.

30/08/2024: Best restaurant we had during our stay. Great service, lovely waitresses. Fish, crabs, mussels... everything was excellent! We recommend 100%, go for it with your eyes closed! Thank you for taking us despite the slightly late hour!

08/11/2024: Telephoned twice on Friday to book a night away. Both times got an automated message telling me all their agents were busy and they would call me back asap which they never did despite leaving my contact details and the reason for my call. Very disappointing attitude to someone trying to give them business

04/11/2024: The castle and hostess, Elizabeth are very good! The room was phenomenal. The service other than Elizabeth? Meh, at best. I had to request confirmation of reservations. The confirmation gave the 'package' name, but not details. When we arrived, the 'package' was removed from the website, but remained on my reservation and their facebook page. My package included dinner in the Sli Dala restaurant and a full breakfast. Upon arrival, Elizabeth did not see that we had the package and asked to see my confirmation. She admitted the conf should have detailed everything and I showed her the package on FB. They honored it, although FB added a bottle of wine, which they also added. Sli Dala Restaurant was closed the night we visited, so we ate in the Dungeon Bar. I had brought a suit to wear to dinner, but since more formal dining was not available, had to nix that. After our waitress served the wine, she made a point to avoid our table for whatever reason we do not know (we were very polite to her and did not speak of the issue w/reservation). She would not bring our food or make eye contact as she passed outside of voice range. We had to ask for help from other wait staff the rest of the meal, including waiting 20 minutes to order dessert after we finished our meal because we could not get service. Classy looking place iwth great food, but the service is amateurish, at best.

04/10/2024: Wonderful hotel in Lovely Macroom. Very friendly staff, very clean hotel and lovely food, what more could you want. The weather wasn't exactly tropical, but this is Ireland....

04/11/2024: First time here and what a pleasure staff were excellent the food was great but was unable to finish just too much (they must be big eaters in Donegal). Often quality is sacrificed for quantity but not here. Can't wait to visit again but the next time I will fast for a day before. Well done the Rusty Nail

25/08/2024: This is my second time at this gorgeous dinning spot and it does not disappoint. I'm vegan and although there was only one option on the menu that day which I did not want the lovely Italian staff member Ivano went over and above to get me a bespoke yummy avocado toast dish. This was followed by the vegan cookie as recommended by Ivano and paired with a beautiful breakfast tea. Ivano even ran after me when I left my umbrella behind. So a big thanks to Ivano and team for saving both my taste buds and my umbrella!

29/10/2024: We had a fantastic few days away in the Arklow Bay Hotel . We go there on a regular basis with 6 other couples. The staff are amazing and go to endless trouble to make our stay great . They provide a room for us to have our fun quiz and also our sing sing . The food is lovely and the whole package is very good value . Well done to everyone in the Arklow Bay Hotel.

09/10/2024: Love going to eat here,you can be sure you won't leave hungry all dishes are cooked fresh, the chicken marland is a favourite of mine especially when Margaret is cooking! Well worth it.

04/09/2024: We did not spend the night here, however we did stop in for a pleasant bike to eat on a Sunday afternoon after going to mass nearby. The food was very good, and the service was great. Overall the pricing was some of the best in town, we will go here again if we have the chance!

09/11/2024: Gave away our pre-booked, pre-paid table because they said we were 30 minutes late. Wouldn’t accommodate us at all. Manager came out, looks like a little 15 year old boy, obviously on a power trip, handpicking from the group who he thought was “too drunk”. 🙄 What an absolute kip wouldn’t go near it again, plenty of other bars in the area happy to get the business in a time where pubs are struggling to pay their bills.

05/11/2024: We had diner tonight for the first time at the restaurant , John made sure the service was perfect for us , we will definitely come back!

21/07/2024: This was a pretty good meal. Steaks were done exactly the way we asked. I will point out that the steaks have a lot of “or” in the description so read carefully. Over all the experience was very good. Also one suggestion, if you like garlic mash potatoes, they come with a minor hint of garlic and butter but we found that you can self improve them by using the butter and garlic provided with the steaks and they are exceptional if you add in enough to your taste.

09/07/2024: I and my friend went for dinner at the hound restaurant today. And we had the most amazing time at the restaurant.. we got asked where we want to sit and we chose to sit at the terrace and it was so pleasant the whole vibe there.. the f&b stuff were so well trained and welcoming.. each person were very friendly and helpful.. but mostly importantly would want to appreciate the kind and beautiful gesture from the f&b manager Danielle... She was so warm and welcoming and very helpful her way of treating a guest is not just excellent but beyond that. I can't express much in words how happy my day was.. even tho there were a couple of issues with the steak but everything else lightened our day. Thank you mount Juliet Estate and Danielle and the f&b stuff was making us feel so warm and welcoming... And for the laste beautiful surprise... Thank you

29/10/2024: Absolutely no complaints, simple quality food, good value, big portions, served straight from the kitchen, small menu, would highly recommend for Sunday lunch.

25/08/2024: We enjoyed the Guinness, finger food and the wonderful atmosphere. Very genuine and pleasant. Meeting friends after a long time in such a beautiful place, was also a great plus.

27/10/2024: Great place for lunch, The staff very informative, pleasant and are very professional and courteous! Although I wish I tried the rooftop. Definitely the spot to go too if you are hungry and want a view!!!
