14/06/2026: While visiting Galway from the States, we were here to celebrate my in-laws anniversary. Felt higher end than the surrounding pubs for more of a celebratory experience/a step above the other dinners we had during our trip.

14/06/2026: My goodness what a gem we found. I can't recommend this place enough! Our waitress who was possibly Italian herself. She was so lovely and welcoming and gave us some history on some of the dishes. The olive focaccia bread that was brought over at the start was beautifully baked and so well flavoured. I ordered a pork pasta dish and my friend had the carbonara. My dish was well presented and just the right portion size. The sausage meat has a hint of spice and was just so lovely. My friend admitted it was the nicest carbonara dish she has ever had! We decided to try the cocktail menu and went for Italian Lady. What a drink! Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts and can be a real hit or miss in restaurants. A lot of the time they can end up not soaking the sponge fingers in coffee/liquor for long enough and it is quite dry but the sponge was moist and the egg whites were very well beaten into the layers as the creamy texture and flavour was divine. Being a bit of a food snob as I grew up with a pastry chef who studied in France as a Mother, I can tell you the food here was just incredible and if you like to find hidden gems that has great offer great flavours and a nice atmosphere this is it. I would love to come back and visit again and will be recommending it to friends and family. Thank you for having us.

15/05/2026: Pleasantly surprised. Didn’t get to try enough options but few tapas plates we had were very tasty. Only 2 points - the salad leaves with the beetroot dish were a bit too greasy and the duck in tacos a bit dry. Will be back though to try some more dishes.

05/12/2025: I love the hotel and I always stay here. Monique is a lovely staff and showed me the buffet. Raphaela is an amazing manager and I also have met the chef Lucas during my stay, amazing food and buffet service. Happy to be here again!!!

04/12/2025: What a huge disappointment. The room is the size of a closet. We stayed here twice before and the rooms were spacious and beautiful. Not so this time. And we checked in at 4 pm, so it's not like they ran out of decent rooms. The new kiosks weren't working right either.

06/05/2026: Lovely food upmarket experience winter for launch on bank holiday Monday, no problem getting the table no booking, handy pay , lovely staff, car parking opposite the queen's pub a few minutes walk away

02/05/2026: Didn’t have any huge expectations going in, the signage is a little outdated as is the menu design itself. However inside the place is modern but cosy with a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly throughout and service was prompt despite being quite busy. The food itself was very very good. The batter on both the fish and chips and scampi was crisp but not too thick and heavy and the fish itself was cooked perfectly. The mushy peas and tartare sauce are both perfect. A must eat restaurant in Dalkey, especially for fish

30/05/2026: Our stay was nice enough. The room had many amenities, the bathroom was great, especiallythe shower. The weather was warm and there is no AC, so the room was quite stuffy, no air movement. The breakfast was a good spread of hot items, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. If you are planning to golf you'll have something to do, otherwise not so much. Our dinner was very tasty and the service was good.

28/05/2026: After we had already booked and paid for this hotel, we received an email saying that there was going to be a private event, and we wouldn't have access to the castle for a 24-hour period. We were staying in one of the lodges. Reading the reviews after the fact, we realized that this has happened to others before. Since the hotel and lodges are on an island, this is particularly problematic. The only other place to get food on the island was at the golf club. The night we went there, they were having a golf event, so we were seated by ourselves in the banquet room. They had run out of the one dish we could eat. The food and wine were mediocre. This hotel needs to do a MUCH better job accommodating its other guests when it is having a private event.

26/05/2026: A very sweet little hotel, beautifully decorated and incredibly relaxing and cozy. It felt very homely, and the owners were exceptionally kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

25/05/2026: Lovely hotel, very good value, decor is full of old world charm. The room was very clean. Breakfast in the conservatory was delicious. Staff were very welcoming. Would 100% recommend.

11/06/2026: We went to get some pancakes in Le Petit Breton in Drumcondra. The pancakes were delicious. I had the classic lemon and Sugar. My son had a pancake with Warm Caramel Sauce. I had a Cappaccino and he had a Luxury Hot Chocolate with marshmallows. Everything was fresh and warm. The staff were friendly as well. It's a cozy place as well. Especially at the back. It was our first visit and I am sure there will be plenty more 😁

30/05/2026: Visited in 2023. I didn't feel welcomed there. The staff made some joke between themselves related to my nationality.

30/12/2025: Arrived Sunday 27th December, no booking, super busy but Ming managed to seat us within 30 minutes. Food was amazing as per usual, service top class and price very competitive. We will be back soon.

29/05/2026: Lovely hotel, with lovely staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. I had only booked for one night and ended up staying two.

13/06/2026: We went for dinner. The staff were excellent. Food was good. Access for people with mobility issues could be a challenging. How ever there may be other dinning areas that might be accessible.

12/06/2026: We recently stayed a night in the O'Connell room at Kinnitty, and it was GORGEOUS. My husband and I agreed that it was the nicest hotel room that either of us have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The dungeon bar was cozy for a few pints before dinner, the grounds were lovely to walk around, and dinner in the dungeon bar was also great. The only downside was there was a wedding going on just outside of our room, but I had earplugs, so it wasn't much of an issue. We also were served a good breakfast the next morning before departing. We were even lucky enough to have Conor, the hotel manager, sit with us for a bit in the evening and tell us stories about the hotel. 10/10, would stay again.

28/09/2025: Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable slightly old style rooms. Perfect for what we needed and beautiful views. Irene was very friendly and full of local knowledge. She is also an exceptional chef and the breakfast was stunning. The breakfast was served at a leisurely pace and everything was delicious. A relaxing start to the day. We hope to come back again.

09/09/2025: Very hospitable and friendly people. Quaint location. Had a room overlooking an inlet so could watch the tides. The place is a little dated, but the people make up for it. Food was terrific as well.

06/06/2026: Not sure if they were having a bad day in the kitchen or we were unwanted Americans but we came in with a party of 6 in the afternoon on a Friday and felt an immediate unwanted feeling. We were pleasant and thankful, they were not. Whatever was going on, It really showed in the food. We ordered 3 fish and chips, all of which had sopping with grease chips and fish and only like 12 chips underneath the fish. My fish had raw batter underneath it on the skin side. I absolutely love haddock so I was super disappointed. Two of us had stomach aches after from all the grease. I was super bummed. I brought my family there to enjoy a taste of something they are known for and it was absolute trash. We also ordered the calamari, underdone and the meat kept falling away from the batter. It was white so they must have flash fried. For both dishes, we all kept looking around at plates around us and seeing a more traditional portion of chips and an appetizer (enough for 3 people to share) and a well cook on the fish and calamari closer to an amber color. Ours definitely didn’t match up. For what you pay, you would think they’d give you more of the cheapest ingredient on the plate. Super disappointed with this experience. If you’re a tourist American, they may not want your business

02/06/2026: Good food focused on seafood dishes, such as the fish and prawn pie, or the cod fish and chips. If you can't eat gluten, they'll make it without the batter. The staff is very friendly.

04/05/2026: Their Irish Breakfast was a bit of a free interpretation. That's not something I appreciate.

26/04/2026: Food ok, staff not very nice. Didn’t offer a high chair for our daughter even though she was struggling to reach the table. I didn’t think they had one, but saw one by the restroom when we left.
