Otstanding Atmosphere.
Couldn't fault anything from start to finish.
Will definitely be returning for more delights. We only took photos of starters! We had Goats Cheese with a Rubard, Pistachio and onion crisp and Sea Scallops. 2 great choices! Unreal! For mains we had Featherblade beef and Goat. Both fantastic. Portions sizes were extremely generous. Everything was so so more'ish. Getting hungry just thinking about our dining experience. Highly highly recommend 👌

16/03/2025: I thought this was a bar and restaurant but your not welcome if it's just drinks as all tables are needed for food. Should have more seats for sitting for drinks instead of 4 bar stools especially when sports are on. Not impressed
08/03/2025: Ate here tonight family of 5 adults and 4 children. Everyone enjoyed their meal and desert! Very attentive staff, great food, family friendly. Highly recommend, we will be back.

The food is delicious, and it comes to your table quickly, which is a huge plus when you're starving! I only managed to snap a pic of the dessert because I couldn't wait to dig in. Overall, it's a great spot with super friendly staff. Highly recommend! 🍽️🍰
09/12/2024: Nice selection of beers and whisky to help one settle in after a long flight. The prawns and chorizo meal was also a treat. Frank was quite a friendly chap and took good care of me

My only issue, teeny tiny is I couldn't seem to get an americano with oat milk that didn't curdle. We tried a few times with different variables, but alas, no coffee
21/04/2025: Nos encantó The Gables y volveremos. La comida era excelente y los servidores muy agradables y atentos. Las únicas pequeñas dudas que tendría son que el barbudo Maitre nos había dejado parados en la puerta demasiado tiempo y aunque mi cerveza llegó rápidamente el vino de mi compañero tardó mucho en llegar. El menú es claro para los alérgenos, aunque el salmón ahumado tiene pan integral Guinness, que nos dijeron que no es apto para gluten, pero no está en la lista de gluten.

I had some, shall I say, a few unique requests and Valerie said “of course” yes, we can do that. My guests were impressed with the whole evening. The food, the wine, the vibe, the atmosphere were exactly what I was looking for as I celebrated a momentous and significant milestone in my life. Thank you Valerie to you and your staff for a memorable evening. Cay Cooney, USA!

20/04/2025: My daughter and I ate here last week were disappointed. Poor selection of food choices upstairs in the food hall: Burger King, Starbucks and food village. The serving staff were clearly fed up and not friendly or helpful at all. The fish was heavily battered, greasy and didn't look fresh. Soup was ok but no Irish bread, no butter. They had run out of clean forks. Dirty plates left on tables. Not a nice welcome to Ireland.

12/05/2025: Not impressed. The service was efficient but neither polished or particularly friendly. The food portions were very generous but the food was far too bland for our liking. The chicken and mushroom was more like a chicken casserole whilst the chicken in black bean sauce was more tasty but very salty. Being English we are used to a wide choice of excellent Chinese restaurants in the UK and we felt this was a poor match to what we are use to. It was also expensive by UK standards but that is par for the course in Ireland. Won't go again. We had a takeaway a few years back and were also disappointed.

24/03/2025: We didn't stay at the Hotel, but we decided to have dinner at the Hotel. I want to thank the Chefs for the wonderful food, and most of all I thank Manager Emilia who was in charge of our table. Thank you very much for the wonderful service, kindness and smile. We will definitely come back again. Thank you 😍

Except the Tiramisu (which was not really like a tiramisu, it was a de-constructed version)
The service was really poor. Servers had to be called multiple times to get attention. They were also a bit rude in serving and impolite

22/04/2025: Ashling Hotel was a very reliable place for good traditional food. Not anymore. Had a meal there on Easter Saturday. The food was pretty mediocre. A pretty poor attempt at nouvelle cuisine. It would be better if the chef stuck with traditional menus.
