08/03/2025: Ate here tonight family of 5 adults and 4 children. Everyone enjoyed their meal and desert! Very attentive staff, great food, family friendly. Highly recommend, we will be back.
29/12/2024: After a panoramic view of the Atlantic via Mamore Gap stopped for dinner with family. The Thai green curry was huge and fantastic, fresh and full of veg, as was the cookie sandwich. Great service from a well trained and friendly crew!

23/01/2025: Best restaurant ever! Absolutely loved the atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. We ordered the sharing board and calamari – the calamari was simply spectacular! Such an amazing experience. Every staff member was kind and welcoming. Danilo, who looked after us, was especially attentive, answered all our questions, and made sure we had a great time.

11/03/2025: Over past couple of years, I pleasure cycle from home to Howth regularly (28km) and I reward my cycling effort with a nice, hot, tasty bowl of seafood chowder in "The Oar House. I'm not sure how often the last Google Reviewer (Mercedes) has eaten there (maybe once?), but I'm a regular customer.
I started back cycling a month ago and I visited Howth for the third time today.
Imagine my surprise when I entered "The Oar House" and I was warmly greeted with the girl at the till "Well, is it a bowl seafood chowder and a pot of tea for you today"!
What a lovely unexpected surprise and greeting I received with lovely tasty food. I'll be back soon..!

09/03/2025: I was on my way to Limerick and stopped for a walk in the forest and hotel grounds. Then noticed the American flag and not the EU flag even though they are in Europe. Besides that flying the flag of a country that is quickly becoming Facist and is siding with Russia who illegally invaded Ukraine. I think it's disgraceful that the hotel would fly the flag.
05/02/2025: By pure luck, I found myself at Kinnity Castle Hotel while hiking a loop in the area. I stopped for lunch and couldn’t recommend the seafood chowder more—it’s easily one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. Even bread was so delicious. The interiors are stunning, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Despite showing up in hiking gear with a wooden stick in hand, I was treated with the same warmth as any other guest. Not a single word was said about my attire, which I truly appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this place to all my friends.

your teeth.no cutlery by time I asked 3 differant servers food was cold and hard .didn't have manners or English.....won't be going back again...21 euro wasted...
25/02/2025: Looove their buttermilk pancake series. But their berry pancake’s portion is inconsistent.
Sometimes the berry are poured a lot, other times the amount is small. I like it when its a lot 😍 (as shown in picture 1 and 3, same order but different days)

03/03/2025: Very good stay with my family in this Dublin hotel. Excellent area and good hotel, clean and quiet. The breakfast is highly recommended in price and quality. Tamara, the waitress, a fun and friendly girl. He treated us wonderfully and made us laugh a few times. Thanks Tamara!
