12/07/2026: Today was my second time having a brunch with my friends in this restaurant, planning to come back next weekend again and try something else of their delicious menu.Strongly recommend to try eggs Benedict and poach eggs in Turkish style-worth it

05/07/2026: Went there for brunch on Saturday with a group of friends. We didn't expect much just wanted to hang out with something to eat. Wow, we were completely blown away by our dishes, their special seafood pie was delicious, creamy, tons of fish and piping hot. It tastes better than some "best seafood restaurants in Dublin" in my humble opinion. My friend's prawn linguini looked equally amazingly. My husband ordered fish and chips the batter was so crispy and light and the fish was fresh and meaty. The chef came out to chat with us and made us feel very welcome. Kudos to him and his team. We will be back.

18/07/2026: Lovely place. We went in the summer so we seated outside with a great river view. The restaurant atmosphere is great and service is excellent. Great location in Galway town. Food was fantastic. They also have good variety of wine available. If you are around and like Italian food this is place is an excellent option.

17/07/2026: Before our trip to Ireland, we asked an Irish friend for recommendations. His only suggestion was to have dinner at an Italian restaurant in Galway. We were amused at first, but now we completely understand why—Il Vicolo is fantastic. From its romantic waterfront setting to the warm, attentive service and exceptional food, we felt transported to Italy. Every dish was perfectly prepared, from the scallops and osso bucco to the fresh, perfectly al dente pasta. We finished with a delicious tiramisu featuring a subtle touch of locally distilled whiskey, a uniquely Irish twist on an Italian classic. Now if someone asks me for Ireland recommendations, I too will be recommending an Italian restaurant!

05/07/2026: The hotel was super clean, the breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip. The air conditioner did not work in our family suite, so we were given fans the first night which helped; however, we did have to crack the windows. Also, the access to the family suites was only by multiple stairs passages which was inconvenient. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

28/05/2026: We were booked in to room 606 on the top floor of this hotel. When we entered the room we were met with an overwhelming wall of heat (approx 30 plus degrees C) We fiddled around the with air-con controls to no avail, even the max fan speed setting felt very underpowered and didn't cool the room at all. I ended up ringing reception and requesting a portable fan, which was brought up very promptly. The room didn't cool much during the night which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. All things said, it's a lovely hotel. Breakfast was very fresh with a great selection to choose from and staff were very friendly. I understand the room is in a corner location with a nearly full glass facade, but on a hot day the room becomes almost unbearable to be in and just doesn't cool down enough My recommendation would be to install a stronger or more effective air-con unit

31/03/2026: 2 night stay, staff can't do enough for you. All of them. Food is excellent. Room is spacious and very clean. Location is perfect. Good information book on what is around. They look after all ur needs. 100% recommend.

26/05/2026: A very sweet little hotel, beautifully decorated and incredibly relaxing and cozy. It felt very homely, and the owners were exceptionally kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

28/09/2025: Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable slightly old style rooms. Perfect for what we needed and beautiful views. Irene was very friendly and full of local knowledge. She is also an exceptional chef and the breakfast was stunning. The breakfast was served at a leisurely pace and everything was delicious. A relaxing start to the day. We hope to come back again.

09/09/2025: Very hospitable and friendly people. Quaint location. Had a room overlooking an inlet so could watch the tides. The place is a little dated, but the people make up for it. Food was terrific as well.

29/05/2026: Lovely hotel, with lovely staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. I had only booked for one night and ended up staying two.

30/05/2026: Our stay was nice enough. The room had many amenities, the bathroom was great, especiallythe shower. The weather was warm and there is no AC, so the room was quite stuffy, no air movement. The breakfast was a good spread of hot items, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. If you are planning to golf you'll have something to do, otherwise not so much. Our dinner was very tasty and the service was good.

28/05/2026: After we had already booked and paid for this hotel, we received an email saying that there was going to be a private event, and we wouldn't have access to the castle for a 24-hour period. We were staying in one of the lodges. Reading the reviews after the fact, we realized that this has happened to others before. Since the hotel and lodges are on an island, this is particularly problematic. The only other place to get food on the island was at the golf club. The night we went there, they were having a golf event, so we were seated by ourselves in the banquet room. They had run out of the one dish we could eat. The food and wine were mediocre. This hotel needs to do a MUCH better job accommodating its other guests when it is having a private event.

02/08/2026: My friend and I headed in for food yesterday and it couldn’t not have been better. All the food was amazing, we didn’t have to wait too long for anything and we had a great waiter too. I will definitely be back.

30/07/2026: The food was ok, but not worth coming back for. I found the appetisers and desserts portions to be small for the price. Service was very good. Pictured is the chicken main and the tofu main.

10/06/2026: If you've ever wanted to pay premium prices for cold, soggy, totally unseasoned scrambled eggs that taste of absolutely nothing, this is the spot for you. Bonus points: the toast wasn't even toasted. Save your wallet and your morning; nothing screams you’re going to holiday more than an expensive plate of soggy sadness.

13/06/2026: We went for dinner. The staff were excellent. Food was good. Access for people with mobility issues could be a challenging. How ever there may be other dinning areas that might be accessible.

12/06/2026: We recently stayed a night in the O'Connell room at Kinnitty, and it was GORGEOUS. My husband and I agreed that it was the nicest hotel room that either of us have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The dungeon bar was cozy for a few pints before dinner, the grounds were lovely to walk around, and dinner in the dungeon bar was also great. The only downside was there was a wedding going on just outside of our room, but I had earplugs, so it wasn't much of an issue. We also were served a good breakfast the next morning before departing. We were even lucky enough to have Conor, the hotel manager, sit with us for a bit in the evening and tell us stories about the hotel. 10/10, would stay again.

11/07/2026: The Inishowen Gateway is a very pleasant spot to stay, with friendly staff; comfortable and quiet rooms; an atmospheric bar; and a well appointed leisure centre, with indoor swimming pool and well equipped gym. The location is not too far from the town centre, the food is tasty, and the overall ambience is one of easy relaxation.

09/07/2026: It a great wee place to just relax and enjoy, great service good food and a pleasure to b there friendly staff clean premises great walks on the beaches and the park town is lively too.
