13/10/2025: Very helpful staff working here. I was served by a striking young man named Sean. He was very helpful and was easily able to lift all the fish with his big strong veiny hands. He was very sensual in the way he caressed the fish, which I very much enjoyed. He packaged them very neatly and took good care of me not to eat raw fish.

11/10/2025: Had brunch at The Gables and tried the Egg Norwegian. Unfortunately, it was a below-average dish — quite dry, and the poached eggs were overcooked. Service was only average, nobody checked on us during our meal, and I was waiting for someone’s attention just to order a glass of water. There was an unpleasant smell and a sticky floor in the ladies’ toilet, which made the place feel poorly maintained. Definitely not the high-standard spot you’d expect.

08/10/2025: I had lunch today from the new menu, a Cajun chicken wrap with chips. absolutely delicious, I'm still thinking about it.. going back again soon... yum. Staff as lovely and friendly as ever, always feel so welcome.

22/10/2025: We had a very positive experience on our first visit and will definitely be back. The food was excellent, super tasty, the pasta was fresh and made by an Italian chef. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The service was exceptional, and I'd like to highlight Vinícius for his excellent service, friendliness, and menu recommendations. He made our experience at the restaurant even better. We absolutely recommend it.

19/10/2025: 3.5 stars - The food and atmosphere was great but however, the service felt rushed, with waitstaff repeatedly pressing for orders despite our explaining that we were waiting for three additional guests. This impatience detracted from the overall experience and I believe in any restaurant, paying customers should never feel like an inconvenience. Additionally, the €25 fee for bringing our own cake was disappointing.

30/09/2025: Probably the best chinese I ever had. Had the irish whiskey sliced fillet steak. It was unreal. I was visiting clonmel from belfast and will he back next month. I would not leave without eating here again ....wow !! Unreal. They even nipped to pub for beer for us.

18/09/2025: Tiny portions, tasteless food, big prices – absolutely not worth it.Special curry was mostly onions and scraps of meat – shocking for the price.Overhyped, overpriced, and underwhelming very disappointing meal. Worst value meal in Clonmel – left hungry and annoyed. If you like bland food and high prices, this is the place – otherwise avoid.

30/09/2025: Fantastic food, tastes so fresh. Friendly service, in a quaint setting. Would most especially recommend the halloumi taco starter.

22/09/2025: We have been here with 4 people on Saturday to have diner we took the chargrilled sirloin steak and it was very very bad ,the meat was very tough with all 4 of us and when we told the staff it wasn't good, she just said ok 😳. So never again for us!!!!!

02/08/2025: La comida era muy agradable, el vino era encantador y crujiente. La comida sabía fresca y muy bien presentada. Pan de focaccia encantador, casero y fresco. Mi único problema es la hospitalidad. Delante de la casa joven mujer es muy grosero. Por suerte no tuvimos que lidiar demasiado con ella ya que estábamos sentados detrás del restaurante. El hombre mayor que nos atiende no tuvo la mejor recepción, ya que estamos incomodándolo. Sin embargo, algunos miembros del personal eran muy amables, una chica pelirroja joven increíble servicio. Algunos miembros del personal son incómodos de estar cerca, en particular la parte delantera de la casa femenina que marcó el tono desde el primer minuto de nuestra experiencia aquí.

20/07/2025: I had the worst seafood pasta ever! Prawns was hard and tasted like paper disguasting and old, calmars very chewy, mussels was good and this all for over 23e. We have a very good memories from this place, that why it was very disappointing after what we get today. We have to wait for a menu because the waiters watch the match in tv. Long time waiting for a food. You can get better pizza in supermacs. Chefs is not Italian for sure. Or he just don't care. Never again. Overrating!!! Highly recommend the cocktails ,the only good thing in this place.

04/10/2025: The location is poor. We were met by a man using some type of substance on a stoop outside of the hotel, there was a mugging that someone in our group witnessed outside of the hotel, then a person obviously under the influence made their way into the hotel lobby and created a disturbance. All within 2 hours of arriving. The staff has been friendly. The accommodations are worn down. I will not recommended this location. I'm not certain how this is a 4 star hotel.

02/10/2025: I stayed here with my family on 11-13 September, 2025. Along with us was our service animal. Around 9:00pm local time on 11 September, I took the service animal outside which required taking the elevator to the lobby and out the front door, passing by the main desk. Upon reaching the front desk area, a hotel associate stopped me and pets were not allowed to stay at the hotel. I replied “your website states guide dogs and therapy animals are permitted.” After a repetition of the exchange, I requested a discussion of the matter after walking the therapy dog. Upon my return, my partner and I met with the duty manager who stated it was okay for the therapy dog to stay but that advanced notice was required. I noted the policy, present in the FAQ, does not mention a requirement of advanced notice. Additionally, nowhere else on the website nor other posting made clear advanced notice was required for guide dogs or therapy animals. I reached out to the hotel afterwards in hopes of placing this requirement on the website. Unfortunately, I did not receive a reply. If staying at this hotel and bringing a guide dog or therapy animal, please be aware they have a policy of requiring advanced notice despite no notice of this requirement. The hotel otherwise is lovely and located near transportation and tourist attractions. I would consider staying here especially if wanting to be away from crowds and noise at night.

29/09/2025: Savory chicken and waffles - ask for maple syrup if you want sweet. Isabelle Breakfast was tasty and filling - black pudding was a new treat. Excellent service. Younger and energetic crowd.

28/09/2025: Went in looking for a table on a Sunday at 2.35pm after seeing there was a table available at 2.45 on OpenTable. Front of house turned us away saying the kitchen was closed! Even the menu in the window says brunch is available until 2.45pm. Restaurants are crying out for customers apparently but not this place, they're happy to turn you away. Don't bother!

30/06/2025: Stayed here 2 nights with my partner for my birthday. The staff were absolutely brilliant, always friendly. Breakfast was stunning & my partner enjoyed her wagyu steak. The leisure facilities are spot on, the rooms are brilliant. Will most certainly look to revisit.
