08/12/2024: We had two of the specials and both meals were very poor. I had the Cajun salmon which was in a very strange sauce with no Cajun spices to taste. My husband had the burger in pepper sauce which was a tiny beef patty with very little sauce. He asked for extra sauce which they wanted to charge extra for. The meal was so disappointing with very small portions and will not be returning again.

18/04/2025: We have always enjoyed our breakfast at Bakestone. We’ve been happy and satisfied customers here for many years. However, today was different. Dreadful and upsetting experience here this morning. Went to Bakestone, as we have done for a long time, to meet friends for breakfast. We arrived ahead of our friends and ordered coffee from the server while we waited for our friends. We told the server that we would order our food once they had arrived. At this point in time another member of staff, who was manning the till, arrived and advised the staff member that there were clearing tables. We were asked to go ahead and order our coffee. This we did. At the till, an extremely rude and somewhat aggressive member of staff demanded that we return to the order area as we didn’t have a table number. We politely informed her that we were asked to go to the till by the other member of staff. She became very animated and very sharp with us. Her tone with us was totally unacceptable. She mentioned something about a leaking roof and she didn’t have any tables. We responded that we were asked to go and order our coffee at the till. The person on the till continued to be rude and very confrontational with us. We asked the initial server if we could speak with a manager. We were advised that the person on the till was the manager. We were then told we could sit outside with our coffee. We make the decision to have our coffee outside as advised and wait for our friends. We decided not to order any food and when our friends arrive advised them not to order food. We would go elsewhere for breakfast. Dreadful customer service and could not recommend this establishment. I can see from the reviews that there is a pattern of poor reviews here.

21/05/2025: I usually like to stop there and I was many times ,but this time I am giving the lowest possible review for food that was served to me fish chowder with literally two muscles inside and two tiny slices of bread .Please see yourself and let me know if anyone would pay 14 euro for this .Service is good ,the place is a nice and quiet location,but I suggest better caution with food since it's not important just visual ,Aldo portions are also small and tiny and there is no value in that meal at all . Disappointment today..Please see the attached photo of what I was served and what I got .I ordered fish chowder and one beer total cost of 21 euro and was left disappointed with the food completely .

They made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A big thank you to the whole team.

26/03/2025: Personal amable y positivo - fue dos veces seguidas para el desayuno. Buena comida, amplia variedad de opciones entre bocadillos, menús, bollos y dulces. El café es bueno también, que parece una agradable sorpresa aquí en Irlanda de acuerdo con nuestra experiencia! Se me cayó el café esta mañana, una respuesta tan amable - no fue ningún problema en absoluto y el barista incluso me preparó un café nuevo sin que yo lo pidiera! Gracias.

09/02/2025: El café y todo lo demás en este pequeño café es absolutamente increíble. Hacen pequeñas quiches maravillosas y un montón de pasteles y postres. También hay una gran selección de comidas para llevar. Todo tiene un precio muy razonable y el personal es maravilloso.

23/05/2025: We have had lunch in Amicus and we ordered Fish and Chips and the Gorgonzola Tagliatelle. In my opinion the food was amazing. Furthermore, we have been attended by the generous and kind waiter Gonzalo, who has treated us exceptionally. With that said, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and will definitely return!

22/05/2025: We first visited this Restaurant when we experienced the Hysterical Histories Dinner Show and loved the food so much that we went back two more times. The Restaurant is very nice with a great ambience, and the food is fantastic. It was within comfortable walking distance from our hotel in a very nice area.

09/05/2025: Do not stay in the lodges. Units have lack of functioning electricity. A different unit didn’t have hot water for the whole stay. When asked for compensation, we were ignored.

05/04/2025: I am delighted with the castle. great atmosphere, beautiful history of the castle. It's nice to find the atmosphere of the last century. pleasant atmosphere. The staff is well trained and polite.

18/05/2025: I came here for a family members birthday party so there was quite a lot of us. The view, amazing. I got the special of the day which was pasta with a creamy sort of sauce with bits of meat. It was quite good but a bit skimpy on the meat.

05/05/2025: Went to celebrate a friend's Birthday this weekend. Our waiter was SO rude. I actually don't have words. We did not feel welcome. Instead it felt like they just wanted us out of there. I could see how other people were treated with kindness and friendliness however from the get go our table was treated with disrespect and rudeness by the waiter and manager. It's a shame because it's such a nice spot. Might as well have visited Karen's Diner. Disappointed.
