25/02/2025: A beautiful starter that I would have been happy to have eaten as a main but then a €40'something steak that was disappointing. Seated in front of the kitchen so you'd think the warmest spot in the kitchen but my wife had to put her coat back on! Freezing!

25/02/2025: Unfortunately, my first experience at this place was not pleasant. And I came to check previous reviews and found out many people complaining about how the host treated them. I decided to visit because I had WON some gift cards at work and wanted to share a special night with my friends enjoying some cocktails, I was so happy to invite them there and I booked a table in Open table (no restrictions were showed). Upon arrival, the host informed us in an unfriendly manner that if we didn’t order food, we couldn’t sit at a table, only at the bar, despite the place being completely empty. While we understood the restaurant’s policy, the way it was communicated made us feel uncomfortable from the start. We were seated in an area behind a wall, which made it difficult to receive service since no one came to take our order. We need to beg for service, call someone more than 3 times. Additionally, when I politely asked if I could borrow a charger (as I had seen one plugged in right in front of us at the bar), the staff member said he would check but never returned or gave us an answer. He could just say no, do not make wait. The service was poor and unwelcoming, I cannot explain my feeling enough. The service completely ruined the experience. For a place of this category, I expected a wonderful night and I received the worst ever.

30/08/2024: Best restaurant we had during our stay. Great service, lovely waitresses. Fish, crabs, mussels... everything was excellent! We recommend 100%, go for it with your eyes closed! Thank you for taking us despite the slightly late hour!

09/02/2025: Desafortunadamente tengo que darle a esto un 4 estrellas. No había estado aquí antes y me invitaron a celebrar un aniversario de boda. En primer lugar, me encantó ver algunos televisores allí, así que pude ver el partido Irlanda V Escocia, así que una gran ventaja allí. Sin embargo, como estaba allí con 2 de mis hijos, sentí que se les podría haber ofrecido algo para colorear o incluso algunos rompecabezas para ocupar su tiempo. Sé que es pequeño, pero siempre es algo a tener en cuenta para las generaciones más jóvenes que están con sus familias. Otro decepcionado estaba esperando para pedir un menú de postres. Las mesas estaban siendo limpiadas por el personal y el establecimiento se mantenía al día, pero nadie vino a preguntar si queríamos el menú de postres o había algo más que necesitábamos después de que nuestra mesa había sido despejada. Un encantador miembro del personal preguntó si necesitábamos algo después de que nuestra comida fue entregada, pero fue la única vez. Tuve que pedirle a un miembro del personal 10 minutos después de que nuestros platos fueran despejados para un menú de postres. Lo dije en voz alta para ver si el personal lo notaba para tal vez revisar más en las mesas para ver si necesitaban algo más. Es un gran lugar y el ambiente era encantador, pero la atención al detalle es clave para que los clientes puedan escribir una opinión de experiencia de 5 estrellas. Espero que se pueda tomar nota de este examen y se pueda actuar al respecto. Son las cosas simples las que pueden marcar la diferencia. Aparte de eso, el personal que nos atendieron era encantador, la comida era deliciosa y en general el lugar estaba impecable. Solo ordena las cosas que mencioné por esas diferencias tan notables.

09/02/2025: Unfortunately we never got to try the food as they would not allow us to enter with my son's service dog even though they are legally required to do so as it is discrimination against a disabled person to refuse entry. I had presumed it was just a misunderstanding but despite leaving them numerous voice messages and sending several emails they never came back to me

06/03/2025: Everything is great. But the hotel is on an island. It takes a little time on the ferry to cross 200 meters 😀 The rooms are good, the kitchen is wonderful - you can cook whatever your heart desires. Warm, spacious. Quiet residential area.

04/02/2025: My partner and I planned our destination wedding at Waterford Castle! The team at Waterford was so wonderful to work with, and so accommodating. Gillian is amazing at her job and made our whole day seamless. Everything from the beauty of the Venue to the food was perfect on our day! Everyone at Waterford went above and beyond for us and we truly cannot thank them enough. We would absolutely recommend to everyone!!

11/03/2025: Just saw the "breakfast" a mate was served for €25, featuring a literal spoonful of beans and you didn't even give him the whole slice of toast! UPDATE: The hotel did later refund him for this. (This review is partly to remind me to stay elsewhere this summer if I don't want to get stung in the morning.)

15/02/2025: We visited yesterday, 14th February, and the service was outstanding—the waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience very enjoyable. However, the food was quite average for the price. The dishes were nothing special and didn’t really justify the cost. I would return for the excellent service, but not for the food.

13/01/2025: We had a fabulous stay. Room was comfortable. Staff were awesome. Weather was winter. We will get on the famous beach next time.

09/01/2025: Good hotel. We had a "superior" room with good views over the Lough and golf course. This is worth paying the extra for, in my opinion. Clean well maintained rooms although a little worn and old fashioned. Staff efficient and helpful.

19/03/2025: Average or below. We were a group and had ordered 3 bottles of water, but only got one. When we asked if we could have the other two, they agreed, but they never came. All 3 bottles of water were then on the bill. But they were cancelled without any problems. About the food: Visually appealing dishes, rather average in terms of flavour. We had oysters and a platter for 2 people. The oysters were good, you just have to like them. They taste different depending on where you live in the sea. Like most dishes in Ireland, the fish platter was very greasy and average in flavour. Everything was really oily and greasy, it wasn't that good. My stomach was upset afterwards and I felt sick until the morning after. The prices are high for the quality on offer in my opinion, the price/performance ratio is not right, even if you consider that it is a very touristy region.

19/03/2025: Had lunch on 19/3, dined indoor, cramped, very poor layout; tripped over the fire stove through a hidden gap and hurt my head, none of the staff came forward to help and just stood there; restaurant supervisor sarcastically said i was the only one that have fell and only provided ice cube to bring down the swelling when asked, yet the cloth given was filthy; manager was apologetic but overall a very poor experience and food was ordinary.

16/03/2025: Beautiful food but absolutely terrible service. A table for 10 upstairs - forgot 5 of our ordered dishes, which is fine as mistakes can happen. However the 3rd time I asked for the remaining 2 dishes and they didn't arrive I decided to cancel them as the other 9 people at the table were ready to order their desserts. Both dishes along with an extra glass of wine appeared on our bill. We would have eaten a lot more food if we had better service, some of our group went home still hungry. A terrible pity as the food was delicious as always. I would rarely publish a negative review, however this was the second time I've had this exact experience in this restaurant. Disappointing.

25/02/2025: We ordered spinach croquets, slow cooked beef and chicken pallea.. food was good, small portions and good service
