11/07/2026: Staff are very nice. Absolutely soulless though. Won’t last long. Empty on weekend nights with atrocious music. Whoever owns it these days needs to give their head a wobble and book some decent acts. There’s no reason to come aside from its open late & serving. The refurb is aesthetically awful. It’s reminds me of some nightclubs from the early 2000’s in Dublin except with zero vibe, energy or decent DJ’s. If anyone has a recollection of this from the mid 90’s and how it used to look, the apple has fallen from the tree, roller into the grave nearby and been buried.

29/07/2026: Complementary breakfast/lunch w/ Greystones Glamping. Had a lovely cappuccino by the seaside, staff were lovely.

18/07/2026: Incredible food and staff. We were staying in the area for a little over a week and after a having a poor experience at another restaurant, we came here, all 7 of us loved it. I had the blackened steak first night which I was so happy to see on the menu as I love a lot of seasoning on my steak at home and this meal was exceptional. We returned twice more during our stay and was tree same amazing standard every visit. Looking forward to coming back next year

13/07/2026: I had a couple steaks with garlic potatoes and chips yesterday and it was 10/10. Way better than steak dinners I've had at steak restaurants in the cities. Great pint of Guinness to . Thank you

16/08/2026: We usually come here. It wasn’t our first time and after eating Lobster Roll and Burger, me and my partner vomited after 20mins. We came back to restaurant kindly to let it know, and didn’t want to leave a review at first. But the gentleman who is responsible said that it is impossible to vomit after 20mins of eating the food and said that probably it is something that we ate before, however, it was our first meal of the day. Instead of checking the food and everything, blaming customer is really uncomfortable and strange. We really loved here before but after this conversation unfortunately we are not coming back again. The gentleman took our name and number but I think after blaming the human body system & customer instead of the food, bit strange. 2 people vomitted at the same time is not normal.

16/08/2026: Stay away , there are better places in Howth! The standard of food and customer service could not be worse. My husband and I went to the restaurant for lunch today. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fish had a bad taste and smelled rotten; it wasn't possible to eat it after the first bite. When we told the waitress about it, she recognized that the fish was off and brought it back to the kitchen. She told us that the chef said that there was nothing wrong with it. We spoke to the floor manager who eventually apologised when we were leaving. We got the impression that it has become a restaurant mainly for tourists and clearly they don't care if you get food poisoning or do not come back.

12/07/2026: This is a Top Class restaurant, they make everything Fresh, at a v competitive price. They make spectacular Homemade Sourdough pizzas, delicious!! Plus... They are way better than The Dough Bros. Go there and meet Bronagh and all the lovely friendly staff. Its a V special experience! You'll sense the atmosphere as soon as you go in!! 5*🥰😋

19/03/2026: Tonigh we have a lovely dinner with my partner, my pasta was delicious the waiter was so friendly and I loved my cocktail ✨ I’ll definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

13/08/2026: It was a business meal for 8 people. The staff was kind and helpful but the wait time was brutal and it was fairly expensive. Portions were also small, especially the stake.

08/08/2026: Had lunch with a few of my family today. My sister is gluten intolerant and they had an amazing choice. The food was fabulous and it's certainly a place I would revisit. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend The Gables.

03/05/2026: Got the lunchtime menu, ordered the garlic mushrooms, and the smash burger. I was disappointed- the breading of the mushrooms tasted like they were cooked in bad oil, and the burger, although tasty, was more like a slider rather than a smash patty, also wedges with burger was like warm

15/07/2026: average quality products. poor price-quality ratio How can you expect good food when the chef walks around in an old undershirt and reeks like an ashtray from smoking outside? The only good thing they have is the steaks—it’s hard to mess those up; the product speaks for itself—but the scallops are frozen, and you can really taste it. The Irish will buy and eat anything.

12/06/2026: A quick stop at this Cork restaurant, where we decided to share an Irish ribeye steak. The service was okay, though sometimes slow. The meat was only offered medium-rare, which is a shame considering a ribeye can be served beautifully rare, but it seems the chef, apparently French, doesn't know how to do it (or even write "beef" on the menu). Fortunately, the meat and sides were still good, but overcooked for our taste.

04/08/2026: The tender box is super good but the birria tacos were just mid. Lacking flavour a bit. I did really enjoy the tender box, the gravy adds a nice touch and more flavour.

25/07/2026: I bought the barbecue box for takeaway. When I opened the box all the meat were inedible. Not fresh at all. I couldn’t even eat a piece of meat. Unfortunately, because I used to be a customer there and never had that experience before.
