28/09/2025: Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable slightly old style rooms. Perfect for what we needed and beautiful views. Irene was very friendly and full of local knowledge. She is also an exceptional chef and the breakfast was stunning. The breakfast was served at a leisurely pace and everything was delicious. A relaxing start to the day. We hope to come back again.

29/09/2025: TACOS!!!!!!!!!! Finally ! real, edible tacos in Limerick! I’ve been seriously disappointed with the Mexican food scene here for a long time. Had tacos from a food truck before and those tacos were terrible, clearly tailored to local tastes rather than authentic flavors. But this new spot at Sambros total game changer. Proper tacos with good quality meat, fresh ingredients, and actual flavor. You can taste the authenticity in every bite. So glad to see Limerick finally getting it right when it comes to Mexican food. Highly recommend!

09/10/2025: We went for dessert after dinner and really loved the place! The two young ladies serving us were so kind and patient, even when we made small mistakes with our orders. However, the manager’s (Raju) behaviour towards them was really disappointing he scolded them in front of everyone for simply trying to help us. That kind of treatment is not acceptable. They were doing their best, and we truly appreciate their effort. Hope management takes this seriously and treats their staff with the respect they deserve.

09/10/2025: I had such a terrible experience here due to the behaviour of the manager, I believe his name is Raju. Our waitress was lovely but there was a mistake with the order which was completely our own fault as we miscommunicated it. The atmosphere completely shifted and we could tell the waitresses were stressed. The manager proceeded to scold the members of staff in front of the entire cafe! It was so awkward and awful to sit through. This is such a shame as it is a lovely cafe and the food is great. But the managers behaviour was disgraceful and I felt terrible for the girls. It made myself and my friends wonder how angry he gets when there are no customers. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to support a business that treats its staff very unfairly.

20/10/2025: We had such a great time at Port House Cava! The food was amazing, every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. We especially loved the Gambas al Pil Pil, Croquetas de Jamón, and the Paella de Marisco. The sangria was also perfect! A big thank you to Priscila, who took such great care of us, she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. The whole team was lovely and worked so well together to make the evening special. Thank you to everyone at Port House Cava for a wonderful dining experience

22/04/2025: Ashling Hotel was a very reliable place for good traditional food. Not anymore. Had a meal there on Easter Saturday. The food was pretty mediocre. A pretty poor attempt at nouvelle cuisine. It would be better if the chef stuck with traditional menus.

29/08/2025: Liene made us very welcome and did not rush us to order. A lovely and welcoming atmosphere with really comfortable chairs with high backs which I love. Portions are very generous and the wine list is very affordable with a good selection. This has become my "go to" place of choice to eat and relax in Listowel.

30/08/2025: Charming, old-school rooms and a historic lobby (check out the tiles on the floor). Highly recommend if you like unique, hotels that are just scruffy enough to be interesting.

10/10/2025: The dream wedding venue that we could have only wished for. This was unlike any venue we’d seen before (and we’ve been to a lot!). The pictures speak for themselves, but what deserves a callout is the amazing hospitality and welcome faces that greeted every one of our guests throughout the stay. The privacy and closeness afforded by the island, the lodges and the clubhouse were unrivalled. It truly felt like we had our own space to celebrate with the people who mattered most to us. Gillian, the castle’s wedding coordinator, made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. Her expertise were evident from day 1 as she made sure every base was covered, putting us at complete ease so all we had to do was focus on ourselves on the day. Antonio who managed the service was also fantastic and willing to help at every opportunity (extending even outside of his remit). We couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with. A surefire consideration for couples looking to add something completely unique and inherently Irish to their special day. Not a bad word to say. I wish we could do it all again! Aaron & Antonia

08/10/2025: There is no question that the location of this hotel is second to none. Stunning surroundings and the castle itself looks like something from a movie when you pull up. The food is amazing, one of the best meals we had on our trip. The service was also very good. My issue is that the hotel is very rundown and old. Items broken, worn out, threadbare carpeting everywhere, broken elevator, no HVAC so a constant damp feeling and odor. It needs a complete overhaul inside. That said, it is a magical place location and with some renovation will be hard to beat.

29/10/2025: I ordered a burger and my girlfriend the full Irish. The burger was poor but if it was just that I wouldn't be leaving a review. Every item of her meal was wrong in some way. Even the toast was ruined as it was so hard it hurt her mouth. I thought she might be exaggerating so had some too, and my mouth still hurts an hour later.

23/10/2025: Food was delicious but €17 for a full breakfast and then coffee as extra. It's 2 sausages 2 rashers pudding and an egg. C'mon.

19/09/2025: The cafe is lovely but it has the rudest staff. I go there often and I never had a pleasant encounter. They ignore customers, roll their eyes, and are generally acting odd/full of themselves. very odd vibes from the staff, but the cafe itself and the food is good.

10/07/2025: 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend. I came in early on a Thursday evening and was met with the whole place buzzing with a great atmosphere. The food and drink were absolutely delicious and the service super friendly, especially the waitress Kamila. She recommended and made me an absolutely amazing cocktail. Will definitely be back.

05/07/2025: Had tapas and drinks here last night and found it throughly mediocre in all aspects. The food was defiantly not worth returning for.

16/10/2025: It was okay. For the cost, I felt like we could have done better. Shower wouldn’t drain and the bed was extremely firm. Breakfast buffet was 1/2 out away when we came down for breakfast. Wouldn’t return.
