Waterford Castle Hotel & Golf Resort in Waterford

Our stay was nice enough. The room had many amenities, the bathroom was great, especiallythe shower. The weather was warm and there is no AC, so the room was quite stuffy, no air movement. The breakfast was a good spread of hot items, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. If you are planning to golf you'll have something to do, otherwise not so much. Our dinner was very tasty and the service was good.

After we had already booked and paid for this hotel, we received an email saying that there was going to be a private event, and we wouldn't have access to the castle for a 24-hour period. We were staying in one of the lodges. Reading the reviews after the fact, we realized that this has happened to others before. Since the hotel and lodges are on an island, this is particularly problematic. The only other place to get food on the island was at the golf club. The night we went there, they were having a golf event, so we were seated by ourselves in the banquet room. They had run out of the one dish we could eat. The food and wine were mediocre. This hotel needs to do a MUCH better job accommodating its other guests when it is having a private event.

Absolutely flawless 5-star across the board. We stayed in suite in castle. Treated like royalty from start to finish. Antonio our waiter for dinner was particularly fantastic and the entire staff was great from the moment we pulled up to when we left. Only there for a little under 24 hours, but every aspect was near perfect to perfect. Dinner menu was unique, fresh, and inspired. Breakfast was equally well thought out and easy for both someone on the run to head out or who wanted to make a morning of it. The scenic walk around the island at sunset was a nice cap to dinner. Owner was walking through castle and took the time to speak with us. Appreciating the small details they go to. Remember: it’s a century’s old castle. Not a Hilton. It’s old school hospitality you don’t see much any more.

Not enough words to describe this beautiful Castle. We had a suite and loved every inch of it. The attention to detail and guest comfort is 2nd to none. The grounds were right out of a fairytale. Definitely the highlight of my trip

Excellent Hotel with a fabulous golf course. Amazing setting for a wedding. Lodges are very spacious for visitors.

What an amazing experience!! I slept in the biggest comfiest bed of my life. The castle and gardens are so beautiful. Shout out to Cal who made our night extra special - I saw him remember drink orders for a full wedding of people! He was kind and classy - thank you Cal!!! Siebert was also a delight and did an awesome job 😊😊

Amazing place we were for a wedding it couldn’t be better place to get married in Ireland. Pity they aren’t pet friend yet.

Very cool unique hotel with fun activities! Hope to return one day with more time! Recommend 2-3 days at least

Attended a wedding here... fabulous...big shout out to Sally in reception and Cal in the bar ...Cal was a total gem.... nothing was too much trouble for him...he was so helpful and always had a smile....a credit to waterford castle
