12/03/2026: A quick lunch turned into a culinary delight that lasted longer, we had venison that was cooked to perfection, I've not been in the castle hotel for many years but im glad to say the quality is as it was then, exquisite.

01/03/2026: Centrally located in Macroom on the Main Street. The hotel is a hive of activity boasting the hotel itself, a bar and eating area, a restaurant, with a swimming pool and gym in the leisure centre. The menu is substantial with plenty of options on the set menu's as well as the daily specials, which change daily. Staff are all friendly, pleasant and professional. There is plenty of car parking outside both on the main street as well as in the hotels own rear car park. Hotel also has a pool and gym area.

22/02/2026: Very disappointed overall.Took my son for a special occasion.Very loud on arrival from people at bar counter asked to move but staff member said the group were leaving ( which they did ) .We ordered 2 starters both small ,tasty enough. .However it was the 2 main courses that were so disappointing I ordered the hake ,brocolini and mash and my son ordered the featherblade of beef ,both portions were small ,the broccoli was 2 pieces of tenderstem.My sons beef was small he was starving after it. .With one non alcoholic wine meal came to 92 euro ..I dont mind paying for something if Its filling and good value but we both left hungry .My son went home for a bowl of cereal.Overall very disappointing experience.Wish I had seen previous persons review ( Sarah ) bfore I booked.We had similar experiences.

15/02/2026: Overall a very mid experience for a fine dining restaurant, when paying such high price for the food you'd expect just a bit more than one mushroom and one broccoli, the chips were not even crispy and more soggy unfortunately, seasoned well beef however too much blood on the beef, , plating was just so basic, the vibe was an interesting experience just way too dark

24/03/2026: Great food, and plates etc. Service & welcome was luke warm, atmosphere was a little dead. Half full but still, all but one overhead light over tables were off. Pity because they nailed the food.

14/02/2026: A real gem. Quite an unassuming location, but a fantastic menu and delicious food by a team who very clearly care about what they put on your plate. We will definitely be back!

30/03/2026: I stayed at the hotel right next door, so I went there for dinner with my colleague. We had the chicken wings (1 kg) and a fish dish, both to share. Both were very tasty and plentiful. The Guinness was excellent. The service was good, but could have been a bit more attentive. Since there was a birthday party with lots of children that evening, it was quite noisy. I'd gladly come back again if I'm ever in Sligo.

25/03/2026: Good place. Good food. Had fish and chips. Chairs aren't great. Not very comfotable. Staff are nice.

20/03/2026: Kariba’s café Balinasloe is a hidden gem. It’s a discrete top class cafe in the west of Ireland. It’s understated and lovely and refreshing. No noisy music . Comfortable seating. The staff were friendly and respectful of me needing a quiet time to sit and enjoy my coffee and cake .. The food is delicious. The premises are clean and fresh .. I will definitely be back ..

22/02/2026: Very tasty full Irish breakfast. The owner could not have been any more friendly or helpful and purchased a charging cable in the shop next door so I could charge my bike computer. Very much appreciated from the Kildare Cycling Club crew.

30/01/2026: Not hugely familiar with the area & we did well to land in here, could not have been a nicer spot. We stopped in for a late breakfast & coffees, all excellent, really enjoyed it, friendly staff & parking outside is a plus too. We would stop here again.

02/01/2026: A good friend and local recommended here so we decided to treat ourselves on the last day of 2025. My husband and I shared the garlic prawn plate with homemade bread at €15 which whilst delicious was small in volume. I ordered the fish of the day (cod at €24) and my husband had the battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce at €19.50. Fish was fresh and tasty. Our children had a choice of sausage and chips or battered fish and chips and ordered one of each at €10 each. The only thing I would change would be to add some vegetable to the kid's meal to make it more balanced, healthy and filling. For drinks, we had water for the table, glass of milk (€2), Miwadi (75 cent) and a glass of Horgelus at €9. Overall, very impressed with the quality here. Recommended if in Kilkenny.

06/12/2025: We had a small Irish breakfast and it was very good! Everything was hot and fresh! Staff was very accommodating! Would highly reccommend! Sorry I forgot to take pictures.

16/03/2026: Sunday night, 8.30pm. 6 waiters passed by without acknowledging we came in for our booking until I approached. Weren’t asked if we want our mains with starters so ended up waiting for one person with starter. Took extra 20 minutes to bring out dinner after starter was picked up from table. Meal was lovely. Attitude to left over food you can see for yourself

17/03/2026: Popped in on Saturday after passing many times, the atmosphere was buzzing with the ireland match on, the food was delicious, amazing portion sizes and excellent price. Staff very friendly, plenty of parking, would recommend a visit, we will return again

09/03/2026: Our first time there Sunday just gone, 4 adults booked for 2 o clock seated straight away,server asking if we wanted drinks we all did , got our drinks and placed our food order. The food and service was excellent very reasonable price for 4 adults, we travel between Dublin and Cavan every second Sunday and will return in the near future. Thanks to all in the Bridge House Enfield

13/11/2025: two bouncers there on xmas night were ON TOP. nicest two lads. made sure my friend was okay and gave us some blue roll and water. checked her pupils and ensured she didn’t need to go hospital. give these men a raise please

06/04/2026: I never write reviews but I have to about this place. This was single handedly the best brunch I’ve had in dublin (I’ve lived here for almost 4 years). Absolutely fantastic, great portion sizes, good value, full of flavour. 10/10 will be coming back all the time!
