Layla's in Dublin

Layla's is a very nice place just outside the busier center of Dublin. It reminded us a lot of Sophie's in the center, apparently it's family ;) we got a good spot and the food was good for the price we paid. The shrimp croquettes were excellent, we shared them. Then the pasta venison, which was very good and the pizza with ham was also very tasty. For dessert we had the cheesecake, which was on the dry side. The service was friendly and fast. We had the first meeting of the evening so I had the impression that we had to leave before eight o'clock :) There is a nice bar downstairs in the hotel and the terrace upstairs at Layla is also an inviting place for a drink. All in all, I think this is highly recommended for Dublin because it is just off the beaten track and has a beautiful view of Dublin, the mountains and the characteristic houses around it. If you want to go to the movies, you can also do that in this hotel.

Nice spot. Good food. Quite pricey. Staff is excellent. Cocktails are nice. Limited choices for kids. We went early in the evening so it wasn't busy, the atmosphere was still great.

I had a great time at Layla’s Rooftop . I booked an outdoor table with beautiful view over Ranelagh area.Service was great,nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I highly recommend it for any fancy event or just a special dinner!

Nice place with lovely views (on a clear day, of course). Food was ok but the fish could be a bigger portion and the pea purée had way too much pepper. The service was a bit slow, they brought the orange juice (not freshly squeezed although they charge as if it was) when the food was already on the table. We had to wait a lot for the dessert. Staff was friendly.

Brunch: Food couldn't really be faulted (except for pecorino on the French toast, not sure about that and both salads were visibly, horribly salted!) ...when it finally arrived! Slow food Coffees and teas sooo slow in arriving. Some staff 'got it' (Thanks, Rob!) But others? Not awake yet? Because of that and a similar slow-service brunch experience there we won't be returning soon.

We went to Layla’s on a friday night, it was busy but a great atmosphere. The reason we rate food 3 star is that the selection of starters wasnt fantastic, but the mains was delicious. This is not to take away from our overall experience here. We really enjoyed it. We had requested a boot, but it was never garanteed. Upon arrival we were met by Aoife, who was so welcoming and friendly. She explained that if a boot became available she would let us no. After sitting down for approx 15/20 minutes. Aoife approached us, offered us a boot and took everything over from our table. We were shocked as we thought - she never forgot us! Despite how busy it was. She really has exceptional customers skills. We spoke to Apife several times throughout the night and she is just a credit to the restaurant and the ideal person to have front desk! Thanks Aoife. In regards the other staff, all exceptional. Food came in efficient time. We never waited more than 5/10 minutes. We never had to call staff as they were at our bekon call. To my suprise we got engaged, and the staff came with a plate with congradulations written on it & some champagne. This was a really special night for us & the staff really made it that more special. We will definately be back. We were here on 23rd Feb 24 - and i hope the staff on that night get the well done credit they deserve.

I had very high hopes from the place but we came out very disappointment. Stars can only be given for the ambience and the atmosphere. Everything other than that wasn’t good … Starting with the service. It took ages for our order to come. It seemed as if we were discriminated against 😅 People who ordered after us, got their orders earlier than us … Then, the food didn’t taste very good. It was very average … And a lot a couple of things we asked for were not available. We were told that it would take 20-25 mins to get 2 boiled eggs, because there’s something going on in the kitchen 😂😂 I would say it’s a hyped up place, but a good ambience … Go for a coffee, but don’t go if you are too hungry 😅 Follow me for more reviews of cafés and brunch spots in Dublin …

This is a six stars out of five place, or more. We've been here twice now and love the views, the decor and style, the excellent service and good food and drinks. I'm a veggie and on my last visit i was looking a bit unsure about the menu and the waitress just asked if I'd like something different and gave some ideas, and I ended up with a delicious special veggie pasta "off menu" made just for me. You can't get better service than that. Add the views of the Dublin mountains or the city skyline, depending on where you sit, this place is a no brainer for a special meal out, and good enough value that the occasion doesn't have to be *that* special!

A very nice place to go, good food, good drinks and very good service. Totally recommended!

Don’t hesitate to visit Layla’s! Their breakfast options are so tasty and the porridge is crave inducing long after you’ve had it. Friendly staff, cool vibe.
