Oar House in Dublin

I had a seafood platter. The prawns were unfortunately cooked a bit too long. But the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all good. Sorry for the nitpicking.

Tourist restaurant at the harbor.

Very cute place, with nautical-themed decor. The waiters are friendly, and the service is quite fast. I ordered the traditional fish and chips (very good) and smoked salmon on toast (really fresh and excellent!). Prices are average or slightly below.

The food was okay (it lacked a bit of flavor and love in the dishes for my taste), I won't go back, but I didn't hate the experience either.

Not bad... But... Automatically adding a 10% service charge to the bill (I think this is wrong; tips should be voluntary) implies impeccable service. And it was quite slow.

If you happen to take a trip to Howth (highly recommended, just a half-hour train ride from Dublin), I definitely recommend stopping here! You might have to wait a bit to get a table, but it's worth it. The food is excellent, especially if you like oysters—they're truly delicious and reasonably priced. Enjoy the sunshine at one of the outdoor tables with a glass of wine (they don't serve beer, which is surprising for the home of beer, but no big deal). The staff are friendly and always smiling, which never hurts.

Service was super friendly and food was good

Went here for Sunday lunch a week ago and had a very pleasant afternoon. We were seated in a back room which could do with updating and the views are not great, but hey it was a Sunday and we were a walk in. Service was friendly, helpful and professional, We shared a calamari and it was fresh and tasty. I wanted something light so had the fish pie and it was really good. We had a really relaxed lunch and would recommend a visit

The food was delicious, although the restaurant itself was quite crowded during the busy season. I was able to get a table quickly as a walk-in but by the time I left there was a line out the door. If it’s not too busy though, I would definitely recommend for a classic seafood place!

The restaurant is right on the Howth pier. They don't take reservations, and if there are no seats (which is quite common on weekends), you have to queue outside and be called up one by one. The wait is well worth it, however, as the food (fish caught daily and caught at the fishmonger next door) is truly delicious. I highly recommend it.
