The Gables in Dublin

It's a great place. We were here for the first time, but I really liked it. It was a March visit, so it wasn't very warm, but we sat in a sort of gazebo. It was nice because it was heated. The service was friendly and very fast. We were all impressed. The dishes came and went as if they were just waiting to be served, which was a plus. The food itself was very good. The shrimp appetizer was excellent, and the sirloin steak was prepared perfectly. A good beer made the dinner even more enjoyable.

We loved this place! We were a walk-in. They were very busy but let us sit at the bar. The staff was excellent. Warm and friendly. The food hit the spot. See you all soon!

I've been here lots of times, and as usual the food was lovely today (Prawn Cocktail Open Sandwich). However, I was very disappointed that a request I had made several times in the booking processes was blatantly ignored. I am currently Immue-compromised and needed a table which would not be too close to others, for fear of infection. I originally booked the table for a date 2 weeks ago, and got their 'on trial' AI booking system, which didn't seem to understand my request, but caught the 'immune compromised' bit and said it would note that. I wasn't filled with confidence, so found another phone number and rang again, this time getting a human. I expained my requirement, and explained the specific table I'd like - she said she would note this. I then had to change the date, so I re-iterated my request for the specific table, again I was told it would be noted. I then had to change the time, so for the 3rd time, I re-iterated my request for a specific table - I was told it could not be guaranteed, but I figured at lunchtime on Monday, surely it could not be that difficult? But low and behold, when I arrived at the restaurant, which was maybe a quarter full, there were 2 people sitting at the exact table I requested. When I told the waitress of my request (and reason) she said something like 'oh we did our best', I pointed out that there were at least 10 other empty tables for 2 which they could have put those 2 ladies in. Clearly absolutely ZERO effort put into ensuring I got the table I had requested 3 times. So I was offered one of the tables which were very close to all the others, which I refused, and chose a 4-person table, which gave me the required distance from the nearby tables. SERIOUSLY UNIMPRESSED with the total lack of attention to a necessary and repeated request.

Met a friend for a Sunday Lunch, Delicious chicken and beef roast. Service was poor, we were left standing at the door, long wait to take our order for drinks and food and no check in to ask if we wanted another drink.

Usually have a lovely time here. Last night was disappointing. One table where loud and had too much to drink and been very vulgar (can't blame the restaurant for this? We where asked to give back our table before we where offered desserts, this was 45 mins in ton out arrival Our bill came and have the items where not charged for. When we explained and asked for correct bill there was additional drinks and food added. After 20 mins bill was resolved. Personally I feel the restaurant was over booked and staff could not function . Definitely won't be going back here on a Saturday night gor a while

Very nice pub food and good service. A small menu but perfect for a midweek dinner.

Booked for a special birthday dinner. Food was good for most of our party but my steak was overcooked. Told waiter but nothing more was said as I didnt want to return it & eat on my own! Service was poor. Overall disappointed!

I was disappointed, the “prawn” green curry had 2 pieces of super small shrimp and it costs 27 euro. The beef fillet steak which was 40 dollars was so small (it was good but very overpriced). We were happy with the halibut but still very small portions. The pasta was the only dish we were very pleased with.
