The Gables in Dublin

We loved The Gables from the moment we walked in. The decor is so inviting, kind of classic yet comfortable. It has a fairly large, welcoming bar area indoors, as well as outdoors seating (covered & uncovered). I would suggest booking in advance as we went midweek & the restaurant was full. The service was excellent - attentive but not "loitering". The food was exceptional. To start we had the burrata tomato salad & the falafels, both of which are a decent size portion of you want to share a starter rather. For mains we had the Korean style chicken & slow braised beef short rib. All the dishes were sublime, but the standout for me was the beef short rib. This was our first visit to this beautiful restaurant in the quaint village of Foxrock, but it certainly won't be our last. You should definitely try it if you haven't been! We highly recommend it.

Great place, good service, taste food. Love the place, family asked when will we visit next time!

Myself and daughter had lunch yesterday . We sat in the lovely conservatory which is very comfortable . Staff were lovely but the food was a disappointment. €16 for a toastie sandwich that was very plain, white sliced bread, it was advertised as home baked ham and cheese but the ham was not home baked it was sliced out of a packet. Served with chips which felt very stodgy. A salad would have been a nice side. Staff and atmosphere were really nice.

Lovely food quiet place not to expensive

⭐⭐⭐ Gables is okay overall. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming, which is a real plus. That said, the service could be better — the wait between courses was quite long, and used plates were left on the table for ages before the next dishes arrived. The prices also feel a little steep for what you actually get. A decent spot, but a few things let it down. Room to improve.

Excellent food and service always

It was a business meal for 8 people. The staff was kind and helpful but the wait time was brutal and it was fairly expensive. Portions were also small, especially the stake.

Had lunch with a few of my family today. My sister is gluten intolerant and they had an amazing choice. The food was fabulous and it's certainly a place I would revisit. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend The Gables.
