24/08/2026: A lovely restaurant with delicious food. From start to finish a very enjoyable experience. The dessert was so nice I had to taste it before I took photo. I didn't get the girls name that waited on our table but she was a pleasure.

21/07/2026: Never again! We hadn't even taken a sip of our drinks before they started demanding payment. After three sips, they asked if we were ready to order anything else. When we declined, the table was cleared after the last drink, which felt like being kicked out. And there was absolutely nothing to nibble on with the drinks, which is a huge disgrace for a bar. To top it all off, the three waiters and waitresses standing near our table didn't even acknowledge us as we were leaving. Everywhere else in Dublin, people are incredibly friendly; the fact that this isn't the case at the Shelbourne is very embarrassing for the Marriott group.

22/05/2026: Local to Dublin and would go to no.27 a few times a year for a nice pre-dinner drink on special occasions, and book an annual conference here. My daughter and I had booked in for lunch before going to inquire about booking her wedding at The Shelbourne. Really poor experience using a voucher, poorly manager by the manager at no.27. The customer service turned us off and no longer progressing wedding inquiry (180 guests) as a result. Food and atmosphere, customer service aside, lovely as always.

28/07/2026: After a long overnight flight this was our first real meal. Excellent and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommended. Breakfast until 10:30.

15/06/2026: Reviewing bar food only: Only my second time here having enjoyed my first visit. Arranged a long overdue meetup here with family member. Lovely ambience. However, as is the case most places nowadays, prices gone up while food quality & quantity gone down. Risotto (€22.50)was tasty, though some ingredient was a bit like chewing bamboo, also the Parmesan chip was difficult to chew. Small portion for the price. Family member had Kilmore Quay fish & chips with Smithwicks batter (€23.50). Fish portion small & mostly bland batter. The piece of fish was thrown on top of the chips.The mushy pea puree was almost non existent. The chips weren't nice so she didn't eat them.These two meals with a cappuccino & hot chocolate made with coconut milk came to €55.50. I paid it but made it very clear that the food was not good. At another time I would have sent it all back & cancelled my order. However, we had so little time to catch up that I didn't bother. Would definitely visit again for a cuppa but won't have lunch here again. Staff are lovely!

18/09/2026: Met a good friend for a quick bite at lunchtime. Service was friendly and efficient, food was very tasty and reasonable value, and environment was clean and inviting.

14/08/2026: Hard to say nice things.. below average, expensive, under seasoned food - The omelette was watery and tasteless, the Hollandaise on Benedict was lacking seasoning and bland, with no home fries or sides served for 15.50€… Not worth the money

26/12/2025: We arrived at The Port House Cava for our booking at 1pm Christmas Eve. The restaurant was empty except for one table. All the other tables were vacant. The server greeted us and immediately warned us he needed the table back at 3pm. That’s fine. We sat. We waited. The same server was down the back chatting with the kitchen over the pass. We waited a little longer, still no drinks order was coming. I decided to draw some attention to our table by going up to the empty bar. The only occupied table gave me a glance that I read as a comment on the hopeless service as they tried to get the same servers attention. He was still chatting at the pass while the only two tables were both waiting for some attention. Up to the bar he saunters, I ask if we can order some prosecco. We only have Cava he says “they are the same thing”. No there not I reply, but ok let’s have a bottle of cava and if you don’t mind 6 glasses for our table. Back at our table he produces a wine list which would have been handy when we were seated. The cava arrives. It’s barely chilled. I say nothing. Again the same server reminds us that he needs the table back at 3pm. My blood is boiling at this stage as my family as I are made feel like we are an obstruction of sorts. The food arrives and it’s delicious. Well presented. Well cooked and a delight. The first bottle of cava is empty. I’d like to order another but the server is back down at the pass chatting again. To command he attention, again I get up and venture to the bar. Another server has started his shift just before 2pm. He’s more attentive. We order another cava and a bottle of rosé. 2.40pm and the 2nd server starts clearing our table. 2.50pm and they are hovering around our table to let us know it’s almost time to go. The restaurant is still empty except for one other 3top table. The bill arrives and I settle at the bar leaving half the tip I normally would. I ask the server why the hard push on getting the table back while the restaurant is empty. He has no answer. Which points me toward the owner or manager who I know will read this review. So, dear sir or madam, your pockets would be better lined if you spent as much time on encouraging your staff to deliver a good experience rather than a punctual one. You’re employing bus boys, not servers. We’re paying for the experience of which the food is only part. The atmosphere was dead just like the bookings. What’s the different between The Port House Cava and Tapas Del Lola? The staff. The staff. The staff. You’re doing Camden Street no favours with this diabolical customer service. I strongly suggest you consider adding some charm somewhere because you’re just not at the level of some of your good neighbours.

10/05/2026: Go to tramore regular with my two god children we go for a swim in splashworld, then we go for a bite to eat, recently we decided to make a change from usual places on the prom we would go for food this time we went up into the town of tramore and found that O'Shea's Hotel was open. We walked inside and were shown to a table and drinks order was taken, found setting to be comfortable warm and friendly it was fab to see open fire 🔥 on the go while there nice to see little tradition kept going. After short wait our drinks were brought to the table. And then our food order was taken by fantastic friendly waitress, she didn't leave us untill she had each order exactly as each one at table required. After short wait food was brought out and I was very surprised with what arrived at the table, i can say O'Shea's exceeded our expectations. Food was hot as it should always be and service received was total above expectations, waitress kept checking to see if everything was ok and to our satisfaction and I can not fault them. There was noting to fault them on. As for the food portions and quality of the food I'll leave pics on here so readers can draw their own opinion, all I can say is O'Shea hotel tramore thank you for the wonderful service you gave us on our visit and we plan to revisit again, keep up what you are doing as it's what customers look for and want when visiting a good business or hotel and restaurant establishment. Don't change what your doing as it works so don't try and fix it coz it is not broke.

18/09/2026: A beautiful place to eat overlooking the golf course. Food and service were excellent. I would recommend it for Sunday lunch

13/09/2026: We were a large group of 15 people who gathered for a late Sunday lunch to celebrate a family event. The location, views, and ambience were fantastic, making it a wonderful place for a large group to enjoy a relaxed meal while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The service, however, was quite slow, and it took a considerable amount of time for our orders to arrive. With several children in our group, they were understandably hungry and restless while waiting. The desserts also took a long time to arrive, and unfortunately, a few items from the kids’ menu and some drinks never arrived at all. That said, the food was absolutely worth the wait. We ordered burgers, fish and chips, Sunday roast, steak and the baked sea bass, and every single dish was beautifully prepared, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavour. The quality of the food really stood out. Despite the service issues, the fantastic food, stunning views, and lovely ambience won us over. We would certainly return, and hopefully the management team can work on improving the service to elevate what could be an exceptional overall dining experience.
