Jacques in Cork

A quick stop at this Cork restaurant, where we decided to share an Irish ribeye steak. The service was okay, though sometimes slow. The meat was only offered medium-rare, which is a shame considering a ribeye can be served beautifully rare, but it seems the chef, apparently French, doesn't know how to do it (or even write "beef" on the menu). Fortunately, the meat and sides were still good, but overcooked for our taste.

Not the best wine list. Shareable plates were good for a party of 20 people. Much bigger in the inside of the restaurant. Steak was cooked medium rare and tender. Others didn't love the scallops but meat dishes seemed to be a hit

We met with friends and what a great place! Service very good and friendly, food was lovely with a slight Spanish touch. The small plates were delicious so you could have a mix of food and flavours. Definitely recommend going here!

Friendly service. Excellent meat dishes, but the vegetarian options are very limited and expensive. The busier it got, the louder it became. Unfortunately, there's only one toilet for everyone, and it's poorly lit.

Sat outside, in the sunshine, sipping an orange wine negroni, while waiting for the cote de beouf. What a weekly special. Life is good! Brilliant atmosphere and fantastic food.

Having grown up in an Irish household where everything is très très bien cuiller, I was a little hesitant when I saw this steak option on the menu was medium rare, but it was absolutely delicious. The entire dining experience was wonderful , great atmosphere, lovely helpful staff. We also were not rushed out the door, which was greatly appreciated, we were able to relax and have dessert and an extra drink at our leisure. We will be back soon.

Very disappointed overall.Took my son for a special occasion.Very loud on arrival from people at bar counter asked to move but staff member said the group were leaving ( which they did ) .We ordered 2 starters both small ,tasty enough. .However it was the 2 main courses that were so disappointing I ordered the hake ,brocolini and mash and my son ordered the featherblade of beef ,both portions were small ,the broccoli was 2 pieces of tenderstem.My sons beef was small he was starving after it. .With one non alcoholic wine meal came to 92 euro ..I dont mind paying for something if Its filling and good value but we both left hungry .My son went home for a bowl of cereal.Overall very disappointing experience.Wish I had seen previous persons review ( Sarah ) bfore I booked.We had similar experiences.

Overall a very mid experience for a fine dining restaurant, when paying such high price for the food you'd expect just a bit more than one mushroom and one broccoli, the chips were not even crispy and more soggy unfortunately, seasoned well beef however too much blood on the beef, , plating was just so basic, the vibe was an interesting experience just way too dark
