Il Vicolo in Galway

On a whim, we booked a table online just a few hours in advance. The service was excellent and the food phenomenal. If you're looking for truly great Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting, this is the place to go.

Great “date night” option in Galway. Incredible value for the quality of food and experience.

Isabel and Juan served us, and it was excellent. Isabel guided us through the menu and wine selection. Juan was charming throughout. They even sang "Happy Birthday" to me because we mentioned it. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Highly recommended. Great team!

A place tucked away in a basement with a musical ambiance. The service was a bit too fast for our liking, and the portions weren't generous enough for the prices. The tables were too close together. The food tasted decent. A starter, main course, wine, and a single main course cost €110.

It was delicious. The truffle and mushroom pasta, the daily special, was especially fantastic. We also ordered the shrimp pasta, and even my boyfriend, who doesn't usually like shrimp, enjoyed it. The waiter who showed us to our table and took our order was very kind. The restaurant is in the basement, so it's a little dimly lit inside.

We had a wonderful family dinner with extremly good pasta dishes!! The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the jazz music:) Italien vibes, definitly a place to be!!!

If you want to experience a little piece of Italy while you’re in Galway, Il Vicolo is definitely the place to visit. 🇮🇹 The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and authentic, and the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. A wonderful dining experience that we would happily recommend to anyone visiting Galway. We’ll definitely be back! Back after 3 years and unfortunately tonight didn’t deliver. The service and setting 5/5 the food was disappointing, overly salty and had to return a dish and the table kinda muscled through the other entrees. Has the chef changed ? Or perhaps just an off night.

Lovely restaurant and friendly service. We arrived early - around 5pm - we did not have a reservation and were immediately offered the river terrace or a high table as restaurant was full - it was the weekend of the Galway Arts Festival and before the Galway Races started! Food was excellent - not the cheapest restaurant but excellent quality and service. Garlic bread was the only disappointment. It was soft with not a lot of texture. Overall, I’d highly recommend - river terrace would be perfect on a nice sunny day.

Had a fabulous dinner here yesterday evening. I'd accidentally booked a table for the wrong evening and the staff were super accommodating and seated us anyway. Food was delicious and the service was spot on. I'd definitely recommend it.
