The Pottery Restaurant in Arklow

I recently stayed at the Arklow Bay Hotel and found it to be a pleasant and comfortable experience overall. The location is excellent, with beautiful coastal views and easy access to nearby walking paths and the town centre. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any questions. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well maintained, with a comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. While the décor felt slightly dated, everything was in good working order and perfectly adequate for a relaxing stay. The bathroom was spotless, and the housekeeping service was consistent throughout my visit. I also had dinner in the hotel restaurant, where the food was fresh and well prepared, though the menu could benefit from a bit more variety. Breakfast the next morning was satisfying, with a decent selection of hot and cold options. Overall, I would recommend the Arklow Bay Hotel for a short getaway or weekend break, particularly for those looking to enjoy a peaceful seaside setting without straying too far from Dublin. The leisure facilities, including the pool and gym, were an added bonus and contributed positively to the overall experience. I would stay here again in future.

The service at Arklow Bay Hotel was amazing. We decided to have our daughter’s Christening lunch in the restaurant of Arklow Bay Hotel and the experience was beyond 5* in all areas. The event organiser Tee talked us through all options and was very kind to accommodate all of our requirements. Everything was then confirmed via email and it was very professional. Upon arrival we were left out of words by the arrangement of the room, the decorations and all the little details - even the individual menu’s were personalised for us with our daughter’s name! The restaurant manager John was checking with us throughout the lunch to make sure everything is running smoothly, which it was. The food was fresh, sourced locally, very tasty and presented very fancy. Thank you so much to everyone for all the effort, attention to detail and warmth - you made our day perfect! Can’t wait to be back!

Stayed for 1 night. Good food, nice staff. Rooms are over price , no aircon on my room on a summer night with the family.

Rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable. Leisure centre feels quite dated, but we still enjoyed it and felt very relaxed after. We booked a dinner package but didn’t realise it was for the Pottery restaurant and not the lounge, and it isn’t actually clear on the booking page if you can pick the restaurant or not. When booking we had actually assumed it was for the lounge since the package was such good value and the pottery seemed too fancy for it to be included in the price! The dinner was okay for me as I found the vegetarian options disappointing, i had soup for starter and for main the only option was a ricotta mushroom pasta which was quite plain. there was a vegetarian cheese souffle for starter too, but I wasn’t personally interested in that considering the cheese in the main. My partner said his food, the black pudding starter and beef main, were fantastic, and both of our desserts were delicious. The dinner and breakfast package is great value, I just found the menu in the pottery was limited for non meat eaters, and definitely for vegans. The wait staff in the Pottery were fantastic and very attentive - Mya, Laura, and a young man with glasses (apologies I dont remember your name!) served us on Sunday and they were great. We had a lovely relaxing stay.

We had a lovely overnight stay recently here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, from reception staff, to the bar staff and the restaurant staff, all were very friendly and chatty, which was lovely. Food was excellent, in both the bar and at breakfast, good quality food. The bedroom was satisfactory, beds were comfortable, we slept well.

Had a great night at a recent music event and overnight stay. Staff were exceptional. Good value and food was fantastic. Great band in bar also. Atmosphere was great !

We held a large event in the hotel and they were so professional to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was as discussed. They took the time to understand our requirements and delivered above and beyond what we expected. A special mention to Tee, the wedding and events manager. She is a dream to work with. Thank you to Tee and all of the team for looking after us so well.

Well Where do We even Begin! For the First, (and Hopefully the Only time) I’ll ever have to write, not just a Hotel Review but a Wedding Venue Review. The Story Starts about 13 Months ago at The Wedding Showcase in Dublin, 2025. Recently Engaged we gathered many Brochures before retreating to review them. Among those that stood out to us was the Arklow Bay Hotel. Upon meeting Tee, the person who would later turn out to be our wedding coordinator we were immediately hooked as unlike many of the other wedding venues we visited, she made everything about us. She Put together as Customised Wedding package which catered to Our Needs, right down to the last little detail. Tee, I'm sure throughout the process, you had many moments where a lot of French language was used in your office given the many "Random" meetings that were never prearranged that I showed up for but from the bottom of our hearts, myself and my now wife, would like to thank you for everything over the last 11 months, and for how smoothly everything went on the day itself. You Calmed both of us down (And Believe me we were both Stressed out of our minds the morning of), and got us through the day, right to the end. Of Course, no hotel is a one person show and to all the Staff of the Arklow Bay Hotel that looked after our guests throughout the day, Thank you for everything. To the General Manager, Ciaran, you've a super team right from Dee at Reception, to Paula & Jennifer on the Floor, Marcus in the Bar, Raphael on Nights, and Paul..... My God, Paul may as well have been a Second Magician on the day during our Wedding Service, given our Guests won't shut up about him since we got home and he even has made an appearance in a few wedding photos! Guys once again, Thank you all for everything! Feels a little bit weird to only be coming to the hotel review now but given I was the groom I got to experience both A Twin Room with my father the night before and the Bridal suite for a couple of nights. The Twin - Very Modern, featuring everything you would expect from a 4 Star Property. The Room was a little bit on the small side, especially for 2 people trying to get ready on the day itself, but that really is my only gripe and if we're being really honest, nit-picking! The Suite - OUT OF THIS WORLD - Huge room, huge bathroom, I can safely say my Bride and her Bridal Party had all the space in the world to Get ready in on the day compared to me and my dad. But what really makes this room special is its panoramic View of the Sea. We were lucky to have the sun actually come up the morning of our big day despite it Being February and let me tell you folks, you could just stand staring out at that view and watch the sunset, it was magical! Myself and my groomsmen did venture over to the Leisure Centre a couple of times and again very modern and lovely swimming pool, steam room, and sauna! As Cliché as it may sound, After All the Stress of the past 11 months, right from 4:30am the morning of the wedding I can safely say myself and my Bride had THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES and we can't wait to return for our 1 Year Anniversary! Went to see a show there, not much guidance or stewardship for seating and queuing to get in.. so glad we went early to get organised. Bar staff were struggling with the numbers. But everyone was friendly and we had a great time overall. Parking was a challenge as the car park is shared with their leisure centre. Lovely welcoming clean venue, will visit again
