Kelehans Bar & Restaurant in Galway

The food was delicious! I was worried because mixed reviews but wow the braised beef was amazing. The steak was good, burger great. The fish and chips all delicious! We had a big table and everyone loved their food. The kids had burger, spaghetti and sausage as an option. It was really hot inside that’s the only complaint.

Review of Kelehan’s Food: 4/5 Service: 1/5 I’m American, and perhaps expectations around service differ depending upon where you’re from, but our experience at Kelehan’s on the evening of 7/6/25 was frustrating, even by the most basic of standards. We had a reservation at 6:00 and arrived at around 5:50 PM and didn’t leave until 7:45 PM. In that time, every, single, other, table, around us, had turned over at least once. Meanwhile, we sat with very little attention and painfully long waits between courses. At one point, our dinner was completely forgotten until I finally flagged someone down to ask about it. We were told that whoever picked up our appetizer did not mark as such in their system, so our dinner was never prepped. The food, once it arrived, was absolutely excellent! My wife had the pan-seared chicken, and I had the roast pork. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On day 12 of our visit, and 5 cities later, this was quite possibly the best meal that we’d had. However, that didn’t make up for how we were treated. Before leaving, I spoke with the manager, Daren. I told him honestly: the food had been amazing, but the service was s#*!. Apparently my word of the word s#*! multiple times to describe the service we experienced struck a nerve. I apologized, but explained that I was attempting to convey my sincere sentiments. Instead of taking that feedback seriously, apologizing, or trying to make things right, he brushed it off and offered a few excuses. There was no real apology, no real ownership, and certainly no effort to make it right. Sadly, the apple crumble we ordered for dessert, which was also SIGNIFICANTLY delayed and is what ultimately prompted me to speak with him, was the one true low point from the kitchen, dry, mealy, bland, and extremely disappointing. We each had one bite and left the rest. No discount. No courtesy. No reason to come back. Great food deserves great service. Here, you only get half the experience.

We showed up without a reservation. We waited a while for service.. The waitress was friendly, yet inattentive. The food was okay. My daughter liked her chips, she said the burger was good. The chicken supreme was okay, a little dry, the flavor was good though. The fish and chips were slightly better than the Palmer's next door.

We've gone to this beauty of a spot several times for food and drink. Everything is delicious, the staff are grand, and it's wonderfully convenient.

Thank you for a brilliant night, the service was amazing, as was the food and music. Highly recommend.

Stopped for a quick lunch. My daughter had the ceaser salad. Very poor, a bowl with lettuce that wasn't even separate, doused with dressing and chicken that was dry and chewy, so definitely frozen. Worst and laziest ceaser salad iv ever seen. My mushroom bruscetta was fine. It was mushrooms on soggy bread. I did tell the staff and I didn't pay for the salad as it was inedible. This used to be a favourite spot for me, but since it has reopened I think the kitchen staff need more training. The bar and wait staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was clean and a good atmosphere.

A lovely bar with the best food and reasonably priced.

The chicken supreme has to be one of the BEST dishes I have her had! It is a MUST TRY. Everything else is great as well. Really cool Irish pub vibes and pretty outdoor space.

Food as always excellent and plenty on the plate.

There were four of us there last night. We had different things for main courses, and they were all great. The other three ordered things straight from the menu . . . . For the main course I ordered the starter of Goats Cheese Salad , and two sides, chips and roasted vegetables. It was unbelievably beautiful. Although I have been going to different restaurants around the country for 40 years, this is the most delicious meal I have ever had. . . . . They had no problem providing me with something different, even though it was not on the menu. And the prices were very reasonable.
