La Pause Dessert in Athenry

Just had the tastiest Hazelnut latte from Le Pause Dessert. Wish I had time to sample some of the lovely food that was on display but had to review the minute I got home because of the beautiful Coffee I got.

This is coming from an Athenry local. This is the best pastry shop in Athenry, period. I find it incredibly difficult to walk by the store without actually getting in to grab something.

I pop over to La Pause on my breaks from work in Athenry. It is an absolute gem of a spot. If you're looking for genuine, high quality and authentic French pastry, there is no other place that compares in the county of Galway, and perhaps even in the country. Their pastries are absolutely delectable, the service is top notch (thanks Grace, again) and prices are very very reasonable. If you're in the area, and a little peckish, it's well worth checking out. The paninis are very good, they are not usually my thing, as I'm not really a bread person. Tried them once on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised! You won't go wrong here for a quick business meet-up, snack, lunch, coffee, or treats to bring home to the family. Worth a visit and definitely deserving of a higher rank for restaurants in Athenry than #11. I would say in the top 5 excluding dinner (which they don't do) and I'm very fussy, I cook at home, I'm a trained baker, and I have very selective taste. La Pause will not disappoint if you want good coffee with extraordinary French pastry, croissants, tartes, and the like. Highly recommend.
