Lord Lucan in Dublin

17/10/2026: We had dinner there last nigh. We ordered boxty, and was disappointing. Boxty itself was really bad, the truffle on top was overpowering. Got the bitterballen, it was quiet delicious. Famine soup and bonemarrow toast was a good combo, but must say was not much of a taste. Lamb chop with its gravy was delicious. Leo Burdock's Cod was quiet good as well. Smoked potato side was delicous. Everything was on the quiet salty side. The staff were really nice and friendly. Service and atmosphere was really good.

16/10/2026: The Pig's Ear is one of those rare delightful restaurants where you end up wishing you had the capacity to taste everything on the menu. I was skeptical that anything exceptional could be made of such dishes as kidney pie, famine soup, shepherds pie and plate of peas, but I was quite wrong. My husband and I had dinner there twice during our stay in Dublin, and had a wonderful meal each time. Can't recommend it highly enough.
