The food here was really delicious but the only downsides to this place not getting full stars from me are the pepper sauce was very watery and not very peppery and a jug of blackcurrant is €4 and there was a 10% automatically added on service charge

A quiet evening, good food in a characteristic and convivial atmosphere

I leave a review to mention the American style surcharge for service. The service was standard. Apart from being asked multiple times if everything was ok. Which is was when we answered yes the first time. I don't see any need. My concern is more lack of choice in the area and Irish/ Europeans being caught by a culturally different approach to restaurants. The food was decent, the restaurant normal. It was very clean and had a family feel. But for the €70 for a starter and 2 mains I paid, didn't reflect the need for a surcharge. This does not reflect the hard work of the staff as this is an owner/managerial decision. + You don't know if that surcharge is going to wages as opposed to the staff who actually provide the service.

Had a delicious lunch. Good hamburgers and a sort of croquettes.

Fish and chips excellent. Lovely pint of Guinness. Lively atmosphere. Burger nice but greasy.

Delicious food overlooking the Atlantic at Bundoran's best restaurant

We always go to Maddens at least once every summer when we are up in Sligo on holidays. It’s some we enjoy going as a family. We were seated in the heated terrace out side at the front of the bar which was pleasant. Looking trough the menu the starter were interesting as always, we got the beef croquettes, pork belly and chicken thigh all of which were nice. We struggled to pick something from the main menu as they were not that inspiring. I got the burger and chips as did my son and my wife got the chicken parmigiana. Burger was nice, but thought was small for 23€ and the portion of chips that came with it was was small. Nice place but it’s getting a bit expensive for a casual night out. Service was good.
