The perfect pub. Old world charm, family tradition, friendly service and incredible innovation. The snug with an open fire on a cold winter's day. The incredible beer garden (like an AI imagined dream of a beer garden) on a summers evening. Perfect.

Fabulous afternoon spent there, Guinness, Irish Stew and excellent music. Recommended!

We had a great afternoon in the pub. Not only were we able to try out hurling, we were also able to test our skills by tapping beer and singing along. Simply a very successful afternoon as part of a tour with Wolters.

Had a fabulous time with family and friends at this pub!! Loved learning about the history and the game of hurling. Fantastic traditional Irish music and my dad even got to sing with the flute player. A memory I will cherish forever. Thank you Fred and Gary!!

Malzards Pub is probably the most authentic country pub you could ever go to with the best pint of stout in Kilkenny by a mile. Recent winner of the best pub in Ireland. It truly lives up to this accolade. Fred and Gary are two of the soundest bartenders you could meet. You could walk in there any day of the week and the place is buzzing. A big stop off for tour buses. The hurling experience is a big hit with the US tourists. Locals are really sound too. My family and I also had the pleasure of staying in Fred's rental house adjoining the pub for nearly two months and this was a great experience. Fred and Bríd couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Great hosts. At the time of writing this review, the newly built beer garden has opened for business and is supposed to be fantastic. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for everything Fred.

Atmosphere and welcome couldn’t be better! Loved the live music and friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit!

Malzards don't do food, but Fred the landlord is the perfect host... Pub of 2024 is well deserved..
