Marcie Regan in Trim

Amazing spot, good pint o Guinness and great setting especially outside overlooking the ruins. The locals were lovely and happy to stop for a chat and ask about our day.

Traditional pub with terrace close to River. Pizza available after 5pm. Parking is bit challenging in afternoon hours.

Brilliant spot with loads of character and history. We got chatting to a few of the locals, who gave us a fascinating rundown of the original owner, Marcie Regan, including the history of the staircase in the pub that led up to her room. They also told us that, when the pub is calm and peaceful at night, you can apparently still hear the original owner moving around upstairs — which certainly adds to the atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit if you’re doing the Porchfield Loop from Trim. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and it was a really enjoyable stop. Can’t wait to visit again in the future!
