Matt The Thresher in Dublin

We had a fantastic meal at Matt the Thresher in Dublin and were really impressed with both the food and the atmosphere. We started with the crab doughnuts, which were absolutely amazing and a perfect starter to share. For the main course, I had the cod special, which was outstanding — beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The restaurant itself is fantastic, and the service was exceptional throughout the meal. The staff were attentive, friendly and made the whole experience very enjoyable. There were just a couple of small details that I felt let an otherwise excellent experience down. Our cutlery wasn’t changed between courses, and the butter served with the complimentary bread was in individual cash-and-carry-style portions. I appreciate these are very minor points, but at a restaurant of this standard, those little touches do matter. Overall, though, a superb meal and a restaurant I would definitely recommend. The food and service were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I'm allergic to spices, but they were super helpful and kind to keep me from getting sick. They gave me lots of options.

Lovely place for a seafood lunch

Just ate at matt the trasher. While the food was lovely it's crazy expensive...my husband and daughter got roast beef 51.90 I got just mash veg and a tiny gravy which they charged 2.50 for it was about a tablespoon full and 12.00 for mash and veg total 66.40. did restaurants get vat decrease ..not being passed on to customers. I'm glad I had just one child with me as no way could I feed whole family there.

Amazing meal! We had the seafood platter, the crab roll, and the two fish specials and all were stunning as was the service with Ivan!

Delicious food especially known for its fish and chips. We had lots of starters and they were all so tasty.

Visited Dublin and a local told us to skip the tourist spots and head right here. Food, drinks and service were excellent! We will be back!
