We visited Saturday night while we were in the city. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and it was easily the best scampi I had ever eaten. We would definitely recommend!

Came here for to celebrate my partner's Birthday and enjoy a bit of Jazz. Had a fantastic time, made better by the excellent and friendly service provided by Stephania and crew. A must if you want Seaford in Dublin!

This was the best dinner of the trip! It's a really great place to enjoy a glass of Guinness with delicious seafood in a slightly lively atmosphere. The service was good too!

Had a lovely dinner at this restaurant in Dublin. Although I came alone without a reservation and was seated at the bar, the experience was excellent from start to finish. I ordered the marinated prawns as a starter and the salmon fillet as the main course — both were delicious. The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, and the service was outstanding, especially from Ms. Nadia, who was very welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended if you are visiting Dublin.

I’ve had dinner here a couple of times and I have to say this place is overall excellent. The service is great and the food and atmosphere are excellent. If you enjoy seafood, I highly recommend you visit Matt the Thresher. On this visit I had the fish chowder and the Halibut special. Both dishes were amazing, well portioned and perfectly prepared.

Very nice and professional staff. They had both cod and halibut as fish of the day. We both had the cod and it was perfectly cooked. The preparation (a pesto-based sauce with tomatoes and green beans, topped with caviar) was also lovely. We liked the dinner very much.

Farmer Browns

11/05/2026: The food was delicious and excellent! We requested two Benedict eggs but only received one,I simply ordered a pan cake thing(forgot the name) and departed
24/04/2026: Food was good, just had brunch & coffee. I enjoyed my waffles & chicken. We didn't book since it was a last minute thing but server was kind enough to offer us a table despite how busy the place was, which we really appreciated. I understand it's busy but our coffee got cold before we could enjoy our meal. Overall, I am curious to try the rest of the menu and will probably visit on a quieter day.

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.
21/03/2026: The incredible historical depth and the remarkably cozy atmosphere of this premier traditional pub in the heart of Chapelizod make it an absolutely spectacular destination for anyone who values authentic Irish hospitality and literary heritage in Dublin. I spent a long time enjoying a perfectly poured pint and exploring the classic wooden interior because the general energy of the building is very inviting and every single corner offers a level of vintage charm that is remarkably consistent with the high standards of historic Dublin establishments. I really loved the professional kindness of the local bartenders and the thoughtful preservation of the Joyce related memorabilia because the balance of the old world tradition and the friendly community vibe is truly impressive and it provides a satisfying and rewarding experience for every visitor. The facility is maintained with a great sense of local pride and I noticed that the environment remains respectful and warm for families looking for a relaxing meal after a long walk through the nearby Phoenix Park grounds. It is a must visit for any resident or traveler who appreciates a well managed independent pub where the quality of the service is a main priority and the surrounding views of the Liffey river add a layer of natural beauty to the entire visit. I also appreciated the clean organization of the seating areas and the general sense of warmth within the lounge because it encourages a relaxed and mindful appreciation of the local pub culture while soaking in the vibrant charm of the Dublin landscape. Even though it is a popular spot for weekend regulars the organization of the service is executed with such care that you always feel like a valued guest during your stay. I will definitely be returning here soon for another evening because the combination of the prime location and the unbeatable historical profile is truly a highlight of the local neighborhood scene.
