McGowans Of Harolds Cross in Dublin

Sometimes a bit quiet for my liking but always a good place for a pint and to watch a match

Came in for a pint today, atmosphere was nice and match was on, service was a bit poor, one girl seemed to be doing most of the work and the other seemed to be on a vape and was on her phone a lot and was disinterested in customers or taking orders.

We had food for family 👪 and friends in McGowans harrolds cross after my mother's cremation in November Excellent customer service food and atmosphere The staff especially Lorraine and Pearce couldn't do enough to accommodate us. We stayed in their B&B overnight both the food and B&B were reasonably priced and of a good standard. So good in fact that we going there again to celebrate 🍾 my sisters birthday 🎂 with family 👪 and friends next month ❤️ The owner looked after me with reference to any receipts I needed for our accounts Couldn't recommend this venue/gastropub more highly 10 out of 10 overall

Always a great pint of Guinness to be had here, and at €5.50 a pint it’s easily one of the cheapest to be had across the whole city. The space is huge and a lovely spot to watch whatever match may be on but in our opinion often underutilised and usually pretty empty - would like to see more on within McGowan’s to bring some more life to the place

Was in here for after a funeral. Mount Jerome is only a few minutes walk. The minute you come in the door, there’s a bar on the right with some tables to the left and right of you. They serve food here as well. Once you walk through the doorway directly in front of you, you’re in the lounge. Very spacious here and the kitchen area is at the back of this. You’d fit over a hundred in the lounge no problem. They also have a small outdoor and slightly enclosed smoking area half way into the lounge and down to the left. One thing that annoyed me was the fact that I was charged €5.50 for a Guinness in the bar and in the lounge it was €5.70. There was no need for that.
