We were initially supposed to get married in 2020 but due to Covid and living overseas it didn’t happen until July 2024. All of the team at Medley were so supportive and reassuring during that time. We had our reception at Medley after our wedding ceremony at St Agnes’s Church. The venue itself is in a perfect location for a relaxed city wedding, great for getting photos and so convenient for guests. Andrew, Chris and Brian were great throughout the planning of the wedding and on the day itself. The communication was quick and easy, and nothing were too much trouble for them. The food and drink were great, and the staff were lovely and helpful at all times. We had quite a large wedding with approx. 135 guests. The sit-down meal may have felt slightly over capacity, but we were told that might be the case. We were supposed to have our speeches downstairs, but my partner decided to do it at the meal. However, some of our guests sat at the back couldn’t hear the PA system. Otherwise, everything else went really well and everyone had a wonderful day. The team at Medley made the day so pleasant and relaxed, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We cannot thank you enough for making our wedding day so special and we would highly recommend Medley for a wedding or special event. Thanks again to Andrew, Chris & Brian for such perfect day.

We had our wedding reception here and we couldn't recommend it enough. We mainly worked with Thiago to get everything set up but the whole team were fantastic. Everything ran so smoothly and they couldn't do enough for us on the night. It made our day extra special. Food was delicious and there was plenty of it.

Mr Fox

23/05/2025: We wanted to try to new A La Carte menu at Mr Fox so booked tickets at the Gate theatre and decided to go before the play. We arrived just after 5 and sat in the outdoor area. It was glorious evening and the outdoor area catches the evening sun so perfect for a pre-dinner drink. We decided to stay outdoors for dinner as it was so warm. We had the beer battered langoustines to start and they're melt in the mouth delicious. They had just introduced the tiger prawn as a starter as we went for it and boy they're amazing. Enormous so one each was plenty for us. I had the short rib beef and herself had the cod. The short rib was incredible and I was assured the cod was equally incredible. We finished off with a creme brulée and it was probably the nicest I've ever had. A perfect end. We then had plenty of time to wander around to the Gate to enjoy the play, Lovesong, which btw was brilliant. Well done Mr Fox.

Hugo's

24/05/2025: Went to this gorgeous place for three nights running! Superb ingredients expertly cooked. Really interesting menu, fabulous ambience, and you couldn’t wish for nicer staff. We feel very privileged to have eaten here. Thank you, and we will come back soon!!
21/05/2025: First night of a week long girls trip to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Jet lag from flying from the US, and got a second wind at 9pm so ventured out of the hotel for a drink and an appetizer. Went to a famous local pub recommended by our driver, but in reality it seemed like the Dublin version of a US frat party, so we left. Walking back to the hotel and happened upon Hugo’s. The decor seemed so warm and inviting. Walked in, mentioned we wanted a cocktail and appetizer. The friendly woman at the front said ‘the kitchen is closing soon, but I have just the thing for you, come on in and have a look at the drink menu.’ Geeked out discussing whiskey with one of the servers, Ireland vs TN, so much fun! Ended up with Blue Spot whiskey and a Hugo Spritz for my sister. Delicious! The server brought brown bread and a soft white roll, with whipped chive butter - followed quickly by a beautiful charcuterie platter with a side of crispy lavash bread. Absolutely delicious! Olives, cured meats, pickled relish, capers, walnuts, etc - it was perfect and really satisfying! Everyone was friendly, and it was overall a great experience. My sister left her reading glasses on the table, and Greg personally walked them all the way to our hotel. Above and beyond!! Such a great overall experience - highly recommend. Thank you Hugo’s team, we might see you again tomorrow!
