Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford

A magnificent garden where we enjoyed an exceptional sensory experience: delicate scents, birdsong, and shimmering colors. We applaud the gardeners' hard work! The tour of the site takes a good hour (to fully enjoy it), so allow plenty of time!

Nice Garden, very peaceful. 10€ entry was a bit expensive but they probably have a lot of upkeep for the plants

The 'Mount Usher Gardens', a beautiful garden where the Vatry river runs through and is completely intriguing. The garden was created in 1865 and inspired by William Robinson, contains 5000 different species, with over 80 exceptional specimens. Unfortunately the garden suffered during the heavy storm last year and some of those beautiful trees were lost.

Great place for a summer walk and choice of food

What an absolute gem. We had a fabulous time walking around this magical place. I would definitely recommend it for a chilled out experience.

Beautiful gardens in the garden county. Trees from around the world. Lovely river walk. Beautiful flowers. Relaxing. Grab a coffee and a sit outside if the weather is good.

Fantastic peaceful gardens with a beautiful view in every corner. So well laid out. Perfect. Nice little shopping centre and cafe too.

Not dog friendly. Drove 40 mins from Dublin and dogs not allowed so unfortunately didn't get to see anything.

Met here today for lunch as we often do. Today however wasn't one of the better days. We waited an extremely long time for our food to be delivered, the waitress forgot to bring the chiabatta bread to go with my salad and when we politely reminded her she wasn't best pleased. The bread arrived as we had almost finished eating. We ordered more drinks and waited another hour (we were about to leave when they arrived!) the coffee was cold and the pepper mint tea was stewed and bitter, but we didn't complain, then when we went to pay there was an error in our bill and the guy behind the counter was just rude, barking at my friend that I would have to pay him the extra that he'd just charged her - 33.50e for a soup, chips and 2 coffees!... (He'd undercharged me!) Not exactly what you would expect from Avoca - poor service and rude staff.

Had lunch here for the second time in six months. Food was very good but once again the room was freezing cold. We had to ask for blankets again (this was indoors). Not an enjoyable experience. Do they need to get their heating fixed?
