Mount Usher Gardens in Ashford

We loved it. We were there as it opened so had it practically to ourselves. A really huge variety of trees all laid out lovely and a selection of shops and a bakery at the entrance. Such a peaceful place.

I was in this beautiful garden in 2016 and when I was home, I followed the sunbeam in a photo (I don't know why) and at the end I could see a leprechaun looking through the leaves.. Maybe it was just leaves or something similar, but it looks like a leprechaun.. Otherwise, the garden has been landscaped really beautifully, with a small animal cemetery.. The garden is so beautifully naturally laid out that I didn't want to leave. There was also a big tree on the owners' property, which I photographed.. Just take a look for yourself, this garden is magical.

Met here today for lunch as we often do. Today however wasn't one of the better days. We waited an extremely long time for our food to be delivered, the waitress forgot to bring the chiabatta bread to go with my salad and when we politely reminded her she wasn't best pleased. The bread arrived as we had almost finished eating. We ordered more drinks and waited another hour (we were about to leave when they arrived!) the coffee was cold and the pepper mint tea was stewed and bitter, but we didn't complain, then when we went to pay there was an error in our bill and the guy behind the counter was just rude, barking at my friend that I would have to pay him the extra that he'd just charged her - 33.50e for a soup, chips and 2 coffees!... (He'd undercharged me!) Not exactly what you would expect from Avoca - poor service and rude staff.

Had lunch here for the second time in six months. Food was very good but once again the room was freezing cold. We had to ask for blankets again (this was indoors). Not an enjoyable experience. Do they need to get their heating fixed?
