Visiting friends for Christmas Eve and beyond. Dropped in waiting to be picked up. A sure wasn't the place buzzing with the time of year. The staff working their socks off. Then someone ordered a hot whiskey, for the laugh. That wasn't served. I got chatting with the locals. I could have stayed forever ♾️. I accused a young fella of calling me a dirty old hoor. Rooms are amazing very comfortable plenty of parking around the back. Bar staff are lovely very friendly. Breakfast was excellent food is very very good. But the two girls on breakfast service need some manners. Extremely rude. Waiting ages for the order to be taken had to go to counter and ask how do we order her reply was im busy!!! Despite us been only ones there. We felt like we were in the way.

Had a very enjoyable dinner here one evening a few weeks ago with my husband. Their buttermilk chicken fillet burger and chips were delicious. Service with a smile and a nice atmosphere. The food was a little slow to come out but the wait was worth it.

24/11/2025: A very busy chipper. Not hard to understand why. The chips were fantastic and the deep fried chicken just melted in your mouth. Highly recommend it as a pit stop if you are passing

20/07/2025: Lovely pub, from the front, it looks very deceptive, however there is an intimate bar at the front and bar/lounge out the back, which can be booked for private events and parties. Decor is very regal and well polished. The toilets are very clean and well maintained. There is a smoking area to the side/back of the pub and is covered... so you're safe in the rain. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, up for a chat and a laugh. And as always expected in a pub, pull a great pint with a nice head. There is music here nearly every week from posters throughout the pub. Would highly recommend to anyone.
