The portions are bigger than you expect but good all round. Lovely place although on a sunny day expect it to be busy. And unless you have mobility limitations, park on top of the hill and have a little wonder down. Nice place to have walk after a meal of yih have the time

We stopped here on our walk to Graignemanagh and it was so quaint and the staff were so friendly and happy. Lovely cup of tea and the views in St Mullins are magnificent 👌

Got food there 29th May 2026. Four different orders. Four delicious meals. And a bottle of wine of course!!! Lovely. Beautiful area, with the river barrow. You can walk back to Graiguenamanagh along the river side. Fantastic summer or winter. And now a free Bus called Barrow Bus drops you right at the cafe. Go down for a morning from Bagenalstown on the free bus. Enjoy the sites and relaxing town of Graiguenamanagh.

If you’re in Carlow, Mullichain Cafe is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel genuinely welcome—so friendly, approachable, and attentive without being over the top. The food is fantastic, with a real emphasis on quality and flavour, and everything we had was fresh and beautifully presented. The café is spotless, with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your time there. What really sets it apart, though, is the sense of place—it feels uniquely Irish in the best possible way, from the warmth of the service to the charm of the space. You can tell a lot of care has gone into every detail. A standout spot in Carlow—highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Beautiful spot along the river Barrow with excellent coffee. The owner didn’t hesitate to help us organise a lift at short notice when our uber canceled last minute. A huge thank you to ‘flying Mike’ who got us to Bagenalstown in a heartbeat and saved our day. We will be forever grateful.
