New Park Hotel Bistro in Athenry

Best food in Athenry! Really good quality!

Not much open in Athenry after 6pm on a Tuesday in October. Tried on the off chance and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was piping hot and very tasty. The stir fry was enjoyable and very spicy. Brownies were really good. The previous reviews had made us dubious but overall it was pretty good with welcoming service.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel. Wonderful personal staff and a very welcoming vibe throughout. The foods great. The coffees really good. The pints are great. The staff are incredible. It’s a three minute walk into the heart of town. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant afternoon meal, food and service perfect. One issue, which in modern times I feel should be addressed is the limited access for wheelchair user. We had our mother out to Knock county Mayo for a day trip. On the way home we stopped in Athenry for late lunch. No facilities for wheelchair users which was a bit of a let down. Directed to the ladies only to find the doors too small and no hand rails and no room to manoeuvre. It dampened our pleasant day but not greatly thank god. We did mention it to the young barman, he apologised but with the age of the building he believed it was an issue which may take an awful lot of work to rectify. But maybe there is some funding available for improvement to access for all to this very pleasant hotel.

Room was adequate for us, but bathroom if you can call it that was very small

Food was excellent but a pity about the cost, eur20.97 for a soup, toasted sandwich and tea. Highly over priced
