This very small cafe doesn't know wether to sell groceries or food - constant draught from the chill cabinet - the late breakfast we had was expensive and very average and much too big - my wife had a plate of food that would have filled two Alaska loggers. Toast was like a rock mushrooms tasteless uncooked bacon - just not great. Would we go back? Definitely not.
Would we recommend to anyone?
Definitely not. Sorry but just not for us

A superb little spot hidden away in quiet Collooney. We had fabulous breakfasts from full Irish to a vegetarian delight! Plenty of tasty option whatever dietary needs you have. It is a tiny restaurant, so not great for big groups, but for nice family breakfast- highly recommended.

It’s not often I take the time to write a review but I felt compelled to. I was passing through Sligo and staying at a nearby castle (that doesn’t serve food!?) and chose Nook on a whim.
Walking up to the little cafe I knew I was onto something special when I saw its wall of awards outside.
Everything on the menu looked amazing but the Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) caught my eye.
Omg the flavours! The portion size! The chips! Just wonderful! My wife had the chicken burger and was equally blown away.
I went out of my way to come back the next day to try the “naanwhich” and an amazing chai latte. It just tasted like ‘more’ to me
I would implore anyone in the area to try it if they have not and anyone passing through Sligo should make a point of stopping for lunch.
Both days the staff were lovely and helpful, I wish I could bring the Nook home with me!

Had a great breakfast here - delicious food - breakfast sandwich and French toast with bacon and maple syrup. Friendly service. Highly recommended!

One of my favourite meals in the last couple of months. I had the Korean fried chicken and it was unbelievable. As a fan of Korean food, I could see the inspiration all over the menu.
They have such a wide variety of snacks and drinks, alongside some more speciality style grocer foods too.

Service very slow, was nearly 15 minutes before our order was taken. Then another nearly half an hour before we got our food. Waitresses were very nice though they were obviously understaffed so not their fault.
I ordered a granola bowl but they had no yogurt, very strange thing to run out of.
I ordered the French toast then which to be fair was the nicest French toast I've ever had.
Myself and my partner also ordered a sausage roll each. Why is there peppers in a sausage roll? It was also soggy pastry, really really disappointing because my partner cannot eat peppers and it didn't seem to say it on the menu that it contained peppers. Just a weird thing to have in a sausage roll.
He ordered a breakfast sandwich too. Was a nice sandwich very standard.
Our friends ordered the nook breakfasts, pudding was extremely hard and seemed overcooked. Egg wasn't runny on one of them, but everything else on their plate they enjoyed especially the potatoes.
Blondies from the counter were amazing!
Other friend ordered Avocado and egg on toast and she really enjoyed it however her cappuccino was lukewarm when she got it.
Someone ordered a smoothie which started off nice but got warm very quickly, would be nice with some ice in it.
Overall there was nothing major worth complaining to the waitress about but there was so many small things that it was overall a disappointment.
Food was decent but has the potential to be so much better.
Service was so so slow but that's not their fault they were obviously understaffed.

Very good address which offers both Irish breakfasts and more original dishes. Everything is very good, plentiful, in a charming setting. Ideal for enjoying Irish gastronomy away from the main tourist routes.

Wither it's a veggie day or a meat day Nook never disappoints, it's my absolute favourite place to have a treat in Sligo. Everything is cooked and thought out to perfection 😍 ... And the pastries are lovely to bring home when you finally have the space to eat them. Thanks Eithne and crew 💕
