Octopussy's Seafood Tapas in Dublin

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, we had a pleasant experience, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. We waited about 45 minutes for our food, which felt a bit long considering the dishes were good but fairly average. The seafood was fresh and reasonably priced, so I wouldn't call it overpriced. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the meal—excellent quality and very enjoyable. The chowder was good and comforting, though fairly straightforward and nothing particularly memorable. The patatas bravas were a little disappointing, as they arrived somewhat soggy. The boyfriend called it a passable grade bland meal - had beer battered fish. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was enjoyable, but the restaurant felt a bit overrated based on our experience. One area that could use attention is the restroom, which was quite messy during our visit. That said, we still had a nice meal, and there are some standout items on the menu. Worth trying if you're in the area, just perhaps with slightly tempered expectations.

Very enjoyable! The oysters and mussels are so delicious. The sauce of mussels is super nice! Maybe it’s not best season of scampis. Still 100% recommend!

One hour and a half queue and our table was in a very small room next to the toilettes. Frankly, the ambiance was not romantic. The sea food chowder soup was bland. The shrimp pli pli was sour. Does not deserve the waiting time.

Amazing fresh seafood right by the pier! Go early if on a weekend, the place gets packed quickly as it is so popular!

Food was excellent and perfect portions. They tell you ahead of time on the menu, the size of the plates. Server was very attentive and direct. I ordered the monkfish with mussels and shrimp and it was fantastic! It’s a very small establishment but it adds to its charm.

Stopped in for a mid day little bite and it was superb! We ordered calamari and fish & chips - both were generous portions and delicious! Great service too!

This is a hidden gem in Howth. It’s a small tapas restaurant but was definitely some of the best food I had in Ireland. Even if you need to split your group to different tables it is worth it. Clean and quick service. Would highly recommend.
