Octopussy's Seafood Tapas in Dublin

Exceptionally fresh seafood, cooked to perfection - it only took one visit to understand the hype and the long queues on the opposite side of the road during the weekends. The service is quick and friendly. Everything is served tapas-style and cooked fresh to order. The interior is kept rather rustic and simple, space is very limited, so be prepared to sit quite narrowly. As there was no tap water available due to water pressure issues, they gave us a bottle of water free of charge, which I thought was a good solution. Also loved the option to participate in building the collection of banknotes on the walls — by donating a note, you are entered into a monthly draw for an Octopussy T-shirt. Our choice: Carlingford Oysters - 3,25 EUR per oyster Gambas Picantes, cooked in chilli, ginger & garlic butter - 14 EUR Organic Irish rope mussels cooked in a white wine sauce with garlic, shallots and cream - 16 EUR Hummus with a caramelised red onion marmalade - 12 EUR Some Pinot Grigio to pair it with (only wines available, no beers or ciders) Check for two: 70 EUR with tips Overall verdict: 10/10

We came because of the many positive reviews. And left with smiles on our faces 😁 A delicious meal served in record time… the taste of the teriyaki salmon will remain etched in my memory, as will the seafood soup 🌊 If you are looking for a quick and delicious meal, all you have to do is walk through the door of this small but superb restaurant.

I went down and left Aileen at home for a takeaway cos she said I’d never get a seat. Summer popped me in a corner on the window and Louise said Aileen would fit too. I called her and she was down in 5 minutes. Great great food , and the summer queues around the block are gone on Tuesdays anyway. Best seafood view and really tasty food with pretty tasty staff too 😉

Best sea food restaurant in Dublin ! Small and charming Freindly staff super chill challenge is in finding a table as u can’t book so u have to wait also u want to be around 6 people as more can be challenging but always worth the wait fresh smells like sea food heaven recommend in highest fashion !

I have eaten in hundreds of restaurants across the world, I am not joking, this is by far the best food I’ve ever eaten. Everything about this place is perfect; the kind waiters, the cozy interior but best of all was the food. Every single bite was heavenly from every single dish. From the muscles to the scallops, it was all perfect. Honestly, please visit this restaurant, it made my trip to Ireland amazing. Even if there is a huge queue just think about the delicious food on the other side of the door. Octopussy, thank you so much!

OK, there’s a lot of really amazing seafood all throughout Dublin because of how close it is to the ocean, but this place has some of the best that we’ve had on our entire trip! The fish and chips were great, the calamari was great, but the dish that stood at the most was the Monkfish & Prawns cooked in a creamy white wine reduction with parmesan. Oh my gosh, no joke, one of the best seafood dishes we have ever had! Obviously, because the food is so good, there is a bit of a line here, especially on weekends. But trust me it’s worth it. Definitely stop by this place if you’re in Howth or Dublin (and can take the train)

The food was simply wow!! I've never eaten better mussels—especially the ones in lime sauce!! The service was also great—we were in a hurry because we had booked a tour, and our waitress even let the kitchen know. It's best to arrive a little early—there's likely to be a wait, but it's worth it! We arrived before opening and waited about 20 minutes in total. The place is charming, and you can look out over the sea and the docks and watch the activity. The picture shows a mixed platter...
