Charming and characterful pub and cafe, great chowder and excellent oysters served with calm professionalism. Serene view across sea to Inishee. Lovely place to rest after a long drive.

We love this restaurant. Friendly, good service, great food, fresh and delicious! I can’t wait to go back .

Went for dinner, without a reservation, around 8pm. We ordered a pint of Guiness each, Soup of the Day, 1/2 dozen of fresh oysters, fish of the day and lamb stew. Soup of the day was vegetable soup. Although the soup was delicious, I could use with a bit of veg bits in to give it some texture. The fresh oysters was DEFINITELY fresh, as there was no smell, and the sizes are quite surprisingly big. Fish of the day was hake. It was light and pleasant, accompanied with mash potatoes. I was offered salad but the fish and mash was enough portion as it is. The lamb stew is delicious, per the Irish partner-in-crime. The lady who was attending to our table for the evening is super friendly and helpful. There weren’t a lot of people at the time, hence it was a lovely ambience/atmosphere.

Great experience overall. We ate in the bar area—service was solid, but the standout was the food. The curry and chowder were the best we’ve had so far on this trip. The fish (hake) had excellent flavor and was nicely done, lightly breaded on one side which really worked. Unfortunately, they were out of crab, so we weren’t able to try that. Great location and definitely a hidden gem for food.
