Old Spot in Dublin

I love going to The Old Spot. The staff are always SO lovely, and the vibe is very friendly and relaxed. The food is delicious as well. While there are some more expensive meals, there are also lots of options that are about the same price as your standard pub meal for far far better quality.

The best food, atmosphere and price I found in the vicinity of Landsdowne Road. I have never left a review in my life! Dining alone each day in Dublin on business. The Old Spot was head and shoulders above anywhere else I found. Specual place, special customer service and exceptional food. TRY IT!!

Are here on Friday night October 9th for our last night of our Ireland vacation. Of the entire week of eating in some lovely restaurants, this was our absolute favorite. Our server was David and he was awesome. He was welcoming, happy to answer my question about whether sticky toffee pudding and banana ice cream was still on the menu (I was so excited to see they had this and wanted to make sure they hadn't sold out 😀). David was friendly and efficient with a great sense of humor and just added to the great atmosphere. Food was excellent - we had the chicken supreme, steak and pork and everyone was happy. When we next come to Dublin we are definitely eating here - everything was amazing and it was the gastronomic highlight of our trip. Thank you!

Decided to visit The Old Spot for Sunday lunch. Delicious food and amazing service! We were looked after by Adrian who made the experience extremely enjoyable with his enthusiasm and attention to detail! We will definitely be back!

Another fantastic dining experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely outstanding. We arrived a little later than planned, but the team was incredibly accommodating and kindly allowed us to order without making us feel rushed at all. Such a welcoming and professional approach really made a difference. We started with the fresh oysters, which were absolutely delicious — beautifully fresh, delicate and full of flavour. The real standout, however, was the country-style meat terrine. Absolutely stunning! Rich, beautifully prepared and packed with flavour, it was one of those dishes that you immediately want to order again. For the mains, both the ribeye and the roast were exceptional. The quality of the meat was excellent, and everything was cooked beautifully. The ribeye was tender, juicy and full of flavour, while the roast was equally impressive — hearty, perfectly prepared and incredibly satisfying. I would also highly recommend trying the cheese selection. A wonderful variety of cheeses, beautifully presented and a perfect way to finish the meal. The wine selection deserves a special mention as well. There is a very good range of wines, with plenty of excellent choices to complement the different dishes. Overall, a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Fantastic service, outstanding ingredients, beautifully prepared food and a great wine selection. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would happily return. Highly recommended!

Didn’t have a reservation but got squeezed in for an hour at 5pm and I was so thankful. Had the proper Sunday Roast with the dry aged beef. Everything was truly wonderful. It was almost like a show watching the restaurant turn from sleepy to live and vibrant. Every member of the team was warm and welcoming, particularly David, was super attentive and they all seem to care that you have a wonderful experience during your time. I enjoyed my meal with the Nebbiolo and it was a perfect pairing.

You have NO idea how good this place is until you come. Hands down, the best food in Ireland… Probably Europe….Possibly the world?
