We held our wedding lunch at The Old Spot in July 2026, having visited several times in the months leading up to the day. It quickly became one of our favourite restaurants in Dublin, so choosing it for such an important occasion felt like an easy decision. From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. Alisa, Hazel and Denise in the reservations team were incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. They happily accommodated all of our requests, from creating a bespoke menu and ensuring there were excellent vegan options to guiding us through the wine selection. We were also able to drop off all of our decorations the day before, and Alisa made sure everything was beautifully set up and ready for our arrival. On the day itself, Aiden was simply outstanding. Professional, warm and effortlessly organised, he made everything run seamlessly. What really stood out was that the entire team felt like part of the celebration rather than just serving it. Every member of staff was genuinely invested in making sure we and our guests had an unforgettable day, and their enthusiasm and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We had 40 guests across four tables, and the upstairs private room was the perfect size, with plenty of space to comfortably accommodate larger groups. The natural light from the ceiling windows made the room bright and welcoming throughout the afternoon, the air conditioning kept everyone comfortable despite a warm July day, and the linen tablecloths were well worth adding for an extra touch of class. One of the biggest talking points among our guests was the food. Being able to order from the full menu without asking our guests to pre order in advance made the whole experience feel much more relaxed and personal. With five main course options and excellent vegetarian and vegan choices, everyone found something they loved. The wine list is extensive and very reasonably priced. If you’re looking for a venue for a wedding lunch, birthday celebration, corporate event or any special occasion, I genuinely couldn’t recommend The Old Spot highly enough. The food is outstanding, the venue is fantastic, but it’s the people who truly make it special. To everyone at The Old Spot, thank you for helping to make one of the most important days of our lives so memorable. We’ll be back many more times in the years ahead.

We were unsure when we walked in but very happy when we left. From the friendly and prompt service to the last bite of bread and butter pudding we could not have been happier. Our 11 and 13 year old picky eaters ate their dinner and then ordered another bowl to share. The appetizers were delicious and my steak was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. I would go back in a heartbeat. Would highly recommend this place.

We absolutely loved this place. Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty. The tartare was fresh with a nice hint of spice, and the sauce with the pil-pil prawns was so delicious that we couldn’t stop mopping it up with bread. But my personal favourite was the Bloody Mary oysters. I’d never had oysters served that way before, and I absolutely loved them. And, of course, the lobster from today’s specials was simply amazing. It’s no surprise this place is featured in the Michelin Guide.

We were brought to the Old spot by a friend who lives locally; in her words. It’s the best roast dinner in Dublin. I can’t speak to that because I’ve only had one roast dinner in Dublin, but I will say that the cauliflower with cheese was one of my favorite things I’ve eaten so far this trip and the truffle mac & cheese was delicious and the roast dinner was exactly what you would expect. The atmosphere in this place is adorable and the servers were super nice and accommodating. Wheelchair accessibility: like many cities, the parking if you need an accessible spot is not super close. Inside the restaurant it was a little bit tricky to navigate in between the tables, but this place was accessible to enter, had multiple seating options, and had an accessible bathroom that was spacious and had grab bars and an easy to open door.

Kehoe’s

12/07/2026: Charming historic pub with a great atmosphere and surprisingly still reasonable prices for a pub in the heart of Dublin. A great spot to stop for a quick pint while you're in the city centre.
