Grogan's Castle Lounge in Dublin

First pint of our Ireland trip. Best pub atmosphere of the trip!

This pub is a real gem. It came highly recommended by a few Irish colleagues, so we stopped in for a couple of pints before dinner and were glad we did. From the moment you walk in, it feels different from your typical pub. The staff greeted us right away, helped us find stools, and even seated us at a shared table with other patrons before taking our order. Friendly and welcoming from the start. The place is full of character. There’s local artwork on the walls (some available to buy), a beautiful stained glass feature, and even carpet that somehow feels clean and well kept. No loud music either, which makes it easy to have a proper conversation. The Guinness was excellent, easily one of the best I’ve had in over 15 years of visiting Dublin. They also serve great toasties, and it’s clear this is a spot locals genuinely enjoy. Authentic, relaxed, and full of charm. I only wish I’d discovered it sooner. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Dublin.

I didnt have food but the service was very good and everyone was friendly. I liked this place.

Quirky bar with odd artwork on walls for sale. Like a working men’s club feel inside. Always busy with a mix of locals and tourists. Something to look at everywhere so you will not be bored. They also serve toasties.

The manager is fantastic, quick and friendly; we came from France and it was a pleasure to be so well received.

Having done my fair share of Dublin pub crawls… this is the best pint of Guinness I’ve had. When people ask if the Guinness in Dublin is better than anywhere else, the true answer is more like the consistency from pub to pub is superior. However, Grogans pint is noticeably better than the rest in Dublin!

Authentic bar. You can really feel the Irish atmosphere. So cool!
