Old Stone in Donegal

Food was lovely, everything cooked perfectly, friendly staff but very confused and bad understanding of what we wanted, I asked for a small fry, the child wanted pancakes bacon syrup, hubby asked for large fry, the waitress then told me the small breakfast is for kids only so I said okay il just have large black coffee, we also asked for a coke or Pepsi for the child, While serving was fast it was completely wrong, hubby got his fry, she also handed me a large fry, which I just took and didn't explain that I didn't order two large frys, then a small fry for the child, which I did explain she wanted pancakes bacon syrup, waitress seemed to struggle with what we were saying, she explains that there is no maple syrup so we went with the Nutella and strawberries, the child also never received her drink, I gave her the milk that was brought to the table (I think for my coffee). It felt more like ordering food abroad than in my own country due to lack of understanding. Seemed to be all down to speaking different languages and understanding.

Fast service, nice and clean place. Very good food. The espresso coffee was good and my Chai Latte was excellent plus they serve a large portion. Fast service and friendly staff.

We had a lovely breakfast. Food was amazing. They adapted to special requests. Servers were very nice. Great location in Donegal centre. Perfect to start your adventure day with energy

Okayish place for brunch. I liked Scrambled Egg and Egg Benedict. I was expecting hashbrown in Irish breakfast. Pancakes were a bit hard and not fluffy.

Great wee cafe, food was lovely, had lunch here, and went back next morning for breakfast.

Ordered 3 coffees while passing through and unfortunately it seems the oat flat white was burned and found a hair on the plate. Also pretty cold inside the cafe, which was unfortunate as it was another rainy day in Ireland (shocker). Otherwise, staff was very nice and looked like a nice assortment of baked goods to choose from

We accidentally were early but they let us come in and get a table before they opened. Best mocha and latte we’ve had on our Irish trip so far. Also great playlist.

Delicious food, good coffee, friendly conditions.

Oh, we wandered through Donegal town so fair, With the cold Atlantic winds in the air. A quick Google search led us right, To Old Stone’s glow, a cozy delight. The staff were warm, the cafe aglow, Shielding us from the winds that blow. An apple pie and a flat white grand, To warm the heart and still the hand. Just a night in Donegal we stay, On our way to Galway Bay. But Old Stone’s charm will linger long, In this quaint Irish town, I wrote this filling apple pie song!!
