25/02/2024: Absolutely great! We stayed at the gateway lodge that's connected. We lucked out having such a great location to have breakfast. We were both pleased and highly recommend for breakfast. Best in town, The french toast with fresh fruit was outstanding!

05/04/2024: We had the pleasure of having lunch in The Blueberry yesterday, we were able to take our terrier in with us and the staff brought a bowl of chicken for him too. We had soup with a sandwich and fries, all delicious, the teapot was filled twice and although the place was buzzing no one rushed us out. Staff were lovely, great hospitality, great food and we will be back.

31/03/2024: First the good: The location is great— 1 block walk into the quaint village, with some really good restaurants, a wonderful bakery and a few fun shops. Our room was clean and the bathroom had been nicely updated. Now the not-so-good: The young woman working reception was not at all friendly— not rude in anyway, just not welcoming. The bathroom shower didn’t have soap, shampoo or conditioner— we went to reception to ask and they said that they didn’t have any there either, so we bought some in town— but it’s standard for a hotel even of a lower class rating to supply these basic amenities. The whole vibe of the property was just ‘meh’— fine? For the price it wasn’t good value for money.

01/04/2024: Busy place in Donegal town. Very varied breakfasts. Delicious 😋 full Irish breakfast and pancakes with fruit. You have parking 🅿️ right next door. With a lot of energy to start our visit to the capital of County Donegal.

29/03/2024: This is a cozy, friendly spot with seafood that is cooked perfectly. Delicious. We had the herb crusted salmon, mussels, fish cakes and tossed salad. All were delicious but the mussels stood out— the velouté was perfect. Friendly, attentive service and good value for money.

29/03/2024: We discovered this precious gem walking by Donegal Bay just after parking our car. We had a wonderful savoury meal for our family of four! Our host Jo, was so delightful and helpful that we naturally chose food that was full of flavour and very satious. We highly recommend: grilled goat's cheese salad, smoked salmon arancini, king prawn gratin, quay west signature killybegs smokies and parmagiana chicken. Our desserts were spectacular, being: the "infamous" crunchy dessert and the chocolate and almond vegan brownie. All were equally delicious and very well presented. The wine list was sufficiently varied and not too extreme in value. We were sad not to see any Portuguese wine - our personal bias ... Indeed the professionalism and positive energy of the staff was heartwarming. We felt privileged to see the beautiful view of the harbour from the upper level of this very elegant and confortable restaurant.

07/02/2024: Avoid this place. Rude bar manager because he is family. Argumentative and antagonistic all because I asked to have a blind lowered to block the harsh winter sun. Very rude! Actually the daughter works in the bar too. Also rude. An arrogant family! Go to BLAS near it. So much better!

05/02/2024: If I could give more stars, I would. We are on holiday touring through Ireland and have had some great meals but this is by far the best and the one I'll remember years from now. Everything we ate (grilled salmon, smoked salmon, soup) was Michelin-star quality.
