Didn't eat here but had coffees. Asked about disabled toilet and was told it was up the stairs. No disabled toilet just a cubicle with nothing to hold onto. Only in Ireland could you get away with this

We purposely visited this wee cafe/restaurant after reading other reviews , with the some purpose of getting a cooked breakfast . We were not disappointed. The welcome was warm, the service was friendly and the ' Donegal breakfast ' was wonderful. The place is small but very popular and we got there around 10a.m. but soon after we arrived the place was near in at full capacity. The menu extended way beyond a cooked breakfast so will cater for most tastes. Definitely recommend a visit if in the vicinity 😊

Overpriced place, even for homemade food. Prices for drinks and cakes weren't listed, supposedly due to fluctuating ingredient costs. As a result, it cost almost €19 for a tea, a hot chocolate without whipped cream, and two tiny slices of tart, also without cream. If you add all the extras, it's almost €25! The staff was very helpful. The setting was pleasant, but not enough to justify the price.

We stopped into The Blueberry Room recently and had such a lovely experience. The café has a bright, calming atmosphere, and the seating is genuinely lovely — comfortable, well laid out, and perfect for settling in. The whole place has a great vibe, relaxed but lively enough to feel welcoming. We ordered a chicken goujons wrap, a quiche, a latte, and a cappuccino. Everything was fresh, tasty, and well-presented. The wrap was packed with flavour, the quiche had that proper homemade feel, and both coffees were smooth and really well made. They also have a great variety of pastries, all looking fresh and tempting — definitely something I’d come back to try. One thing to note: when the sun is shining, there can be a bit of a wait because it’s such a popular spot. Honestly, the only tricky part is finding a parking space nearby — once you’re inside, it’s well worth it. The staff were friendly, attentive, and warm throughout, even though the café was busy. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to return. If you’re in Donegal Town and looking for a cosy spot with good food, great coffee, and a lovely atmosphere, The Blueberry Room is absolutely worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back.

Simple Simons

26/10/2025: We had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Simple Simon in Donegal Town! I ordered the vegetarian rosti, and it was outstanding — perfectly crunchy on the outside with layers of creamy avocado, topped with fresh arugula and tangy pickled red cabbage. The sides of roasted beets, feta cubes, and pumpkin seeds added the perfect balance of flavor and texture. My husband went for the BLT, which was packed with flavor — beautifully toasted bread filled with crisp bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and fresh salad greens. Everything tasted so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. They also have a great selection of coffees, which made the meal even better. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautifully presented dishes — can’t recommend this spot highly enough!
25/09/2025: Lovely friendly service, great coffee and delicious food. We both had the Rosti Stack €16. Good choice 😋
