To be fair, I only had a Coke (Medical issues, drinking is a non-option, yadda yadda) to sample the local live music, which was amazing (courtesy of Claddagh Rua whose rendition of Hard Times was out of this world). But the atmosphere was friendly and cozy (although make sure you ARE purchasing drinks of some kind so the place and the visiting performers are making money) and the server I encountered was quick on the draw with my order and charming to boot. The only thing missing was a dance floor, but that’s a personal gripe. Visit recommended!

Not sure they serve food, but the Guinness was excellent and the live Irish music top notch. Great atmosphere of locals and tourists all enjoying the vibe together.

Great time!!!! 10/10. Fabulous live music, great Guinness. Was pouring rain the night I was there (Nov 28,2025) was so bloody hot in the bar this πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ had to keep going & dancing in the rain.

Great bar, great staff and great entertainment. We were in Donegal for St Patrick's Day and we had the best of craic. Barman Mark kept the pints flowing, lovely fella. Definitely worth a visit.

Blueberry Tea Room

15/05/2026: Didn't eat here but had coffees. Asked about disabled toilet and was told it was up the stairs. No disabled toilet just a cubicle with nothing to hold onto. Only in Ireland could you get away with this
13/05/2026: We purposely visited this wee cafe/restaurant after reading other reviews , with the some purpose of getting a cooked breakfast . We were not disappointed. The welcome was warm, the service was friendly and the ' Donegal breakfast ' was wonderful. The place is small but very popular and we got there around 10a.m. but soon after we arrived the place was near in at full capacity. The menu extended way beyond a cooked breakfast so will cater for most tastes. Definitely recommend a visit if in the vicinity 😊

26/10/2025: We had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Simple Simon in Donegal Town! I ordered the vegetarian rosti, and it was outstanding β€” perfectly crunchy on the outside with layers of creamy avocado, topped with fresh arugula and tangy pickled red cabbage. The sides of roasted beets, feta cubes, and pumpkin seeds added the perfect balance of flavor and texture. My husband went for the BLT, which was packed with flavor β€” beautifully toasted bread filled with crisp bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and fresh salad greens. Everything tasted so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. They also have a great selection of coffees, which made the meal even better. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautifully presented dishes β€” can’t recommend this spot highly enough!
