I didn't expect food with such amazing flavor and at such a good price! 👌🏻 Don't miss it! We ordered fish and chips, Cajun chicken, and oven-baked salmon. Absolutely fantastic, and the service was fast! 👏🏻

Some Asian dishes on the menu like gado gado, satay, and noodles, which is a nice change from the standard Irish food. It was very tasty. The service was a bit disorganized.

Walked in off the street. Service was excellent and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Lovely environment with nice lighting. Food was solid I would give it a 7/10 for tastiness.

Market House

21/08/2026: The restaurant is in a lovely location and the decor is beautiful, so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, the service really let the experience down. We were waiting a long time for both drinks and food, and the overall service felt quite slow. When the food eventually arrived, the pasta wasn’t cooked properly, while both the prawns and salmon were overcooked. It was disappointing, especially considering how nice the setting is.
14/08/2026: Great place to have a big family meal.

Olde Castle Bar, menu

08/08/2026: Great atmosphere and good food, well worth a visit.
06/08/2026: Olde Castle Seafood Bar became one of our favorite restaurants in Donegal Town. This historic place has seen many changes since the 1700s, when it was an inn and stables next to Red Hugh O’Donnell’s 15th-century Donegal Castle. The current building was restored in the 19th-century and has been home to the restaurant since 2007, when the O’Toole family opened the establishment. After we arrived in this historic town, Olde Castle Seafood Bar was where we had our first meal. We both ordered the fresh fish caught by the fishermen from Killybegs just down the road. The restaurant sources its fish from Killybegs and local fishermen. The dinner was excellent. We went back for lunch a couple of times more for some lovely vegetable soup with the fabulous Irish brown bread. Another day we had a charcuterie platter featuring Irish meats and cheeses that were refreshing and delicious. The servers were friendly and helpful, and the bartender was full of wonderful tales. Just what you would expect from a true Irish barkeep. We felt it was very reasonably priced, and all the food was delicious. We will be back.
