03/02/2024: 10 Stars for this wee Gem.Met a Lovely Young Fella on arrival. Room is at the top so 3 flights of stairs but worth it for the View/Location/comfort. Its on the corner and looks out onto the Diamond.To the left you can see The Castle from the window..Room Has a double and single bed.Clean Towels/Kettle/Tea/Coffee/Iron/board/Small fridge with freezer/Tv/Hairdryer/2 heaters/Cool fan/Table and Stools..And an AMAZING shower...All must of been a recent renovation.Looks new and very well finished.And Lovely and Clean...Entrance private OR through the Bar..So best of both worlds..Never got a chance THIS time to sample the Bar but I'll be back I'm 100percent positive about that.. I'd definitely recommend a stay here..Taking my son next time I go.. Also, worth a mention, sound proofing must of been done.Couldnt hear the Bar at all..Very impressed 👌🏽

08/09/2023: Absolutely adorable spot right in the center of Donegal Town. The selection is impressive, gorgeous, and, most importantly, delicious! Coffee, pastries, treats, bread, sandwiches. It is a bit hard to find, as you have to walk through a courtyard off of the main town square. I would recommend adding a sign (flag or sidewalk poster) in addition to the one on the wall.

19/01/2024: "Good, yeah it was good, Simple as that"... Prepared there in front of you and ready in 3-5 mins roughly. As good a quality as city break to Roman Restaurant pizza, that I've had, but on your Knee in the car, in Donegal, LoL😁. Gone in 7mins..... Just missing a Glass of Rioja to wash it down. . Definitely give him a shout.. Lovely Pizza. Only €12.95, For Nothing👌🏻

21/03/2024: This hotel was great! The whole experience here was amazing the people were awesome the food was great and I loved the area! I would definitely recommend this hotel... Perfect location for transportation too!

19/03/2024: The staff are lovely and the location is perfect. It just sucked that the room was unbearably hot. I think it's an issue with the heating. It was blasting all night long. Felt like we were having an extreme heat wave and no way to turn it off. Our friends had the same. If they'd Sort that then it's really nice place to stay!

10/02/2024: Johnny and George were great! The food was AMAZING. Wouldn't recommend staying in the Castle, but definitely the restaurant! The only negative comment was that my Husband wished there was 4 slices of the duck, rather than just two. I would come here again for my next birthday if I could.

01/02/2024: The food was just okay considering the fine dining designation. (The hotel breakfast served here is good.) But the decor was very ordinary, again in light of the designation. It is a large room that resembles a corporate executive cafeteria, no warmth or charm to it at all.

23/03/2024: I've only ever gotten the takeaways rather than dine-in. But the food is just amazing, very generous portioning, so plenty leftovers for another meal too

18/03/2024: I asked for a mild vegetarian dish, but our ideas of mild were very different. However the waiters were superb and brought me a lassi to cool my mouth and tried to cool the dish down. Very impressed with their staff.

10/01/2024: Update: 10th January 2024. CLOSED - Google shows it’s open but blinds are down and sign says it shut for January. Bonus: we walked around and found Furey’s diner, not somewhere we’d been before. Whenever we visit Donegal we always use to pop in here for a cuppa and something to eat. Arrived today to find it closed, sign in window states they closed due to refurbishment at the beginning of January and will reopen again in February. Based on my past visit I’m giving it 5 stars and hopefully it will reopen soon.

15/11/2023: We went for dinner before an event elsewhere in town but the steak was a complete disaster unlike a previous visit. It was tough as nails
