Chandpur in Donegal

One of the best Indian restaurants in Ireland. Railway curry is excellent. Staff are brilliant.

Came here for dinner and had a lovely meal! The staff was very friendly and checked in regularly during the meal. We got some pappadams (an extra one too as a surprise!) with some chutneys and sauces. They were all delightful and we kept some to have with our mains too. The eggplant bhaji was smooth and creamy, and the eggplant was soft and soaked in the flavours well. The sauce for the chicken pathia was umami and it reminded me of Chinese style stirfry sauce! Love the setup to keep the curries warm. The quantities were plenty and I think half portion would have been sufficient if you're not very hungry. The naan was splendid too - soft and crispy at the same time. I gave the food 4 rather than 5 stars because, having grown up with Indian food, I'm used to a different flavour profile. The menu is catered to the local palate, which is understandable as it makes Indian food accessible to a wider audience.

This is an amazing first class Indian restaurant located in the town centre of Donegal. The menu is extensive and the servings are ample. As is often the case, meat dishes have a limited number larger chunks in a serving. This can be an issue with shared group servings. This restaurant needs to be mindful of this. Excellent food, first class service and very well priced. Highly Recommended

Food was SO GOOD, definitely recommend, Sundays they got a buffet, best buffet I’ve been too! Customer service was top tier! Lovely people!

Fantastic Indian restaurant in the heart of Donegal town , great selection of curries that the waiters can tell you in detail what flavours you may prefer, quick and friendly service and a good atmosphere all around.

Absolutely the tastiest Indian food I've had in a long time, highly recommend, service was excellent, staff friendly & helpful.

My partner and I went for a lovely post-six nations meal and were not disappointed! I had told him how good the butter chicken was (my family and I had been before) and he really enjoyed it. I also thought it was lovely albeit too sweet- some similarities to a korma in some ways, and I thought the chicken wasn't quite as moist as the last time I had this lovely dish. Sauce however was super rich and buttery as it should be. The lamb bhuna was exceptional, full of great flavour and varied texture. The lamb was also cooked very well. We also had lovely starters, the samosa being my favourite! The service really stood out as being polite, considered, and very hospitable. We also really enjoyed the overall atmosphere in the restaurant. Thank you to the team at Chandpur, we will certainly be back!
