Chandpur in Donegal

My husband and I found this restaurant an absolute gem. The service was polished, the recommendations were spot on to suit what we would like, and we were not rushed. We set a reservation for 6:15 on a Monday and had no problem getting in. We walked 3 min from the Abbey Hotel. We enjoyed the bottle of Pinot Noir wine from New Zealand and especially loved the garlic and cheese naan. We were so impressed by all the awards the restaurant had won, and enjoyed the food, flavors, atmosphere, and service immensely. A highlight of our trip to Ireland.

We got takeaway and it was delicious.

Best Indian by a long way Great food Great price

This is an amazing award winning Indian Restaurant. The staff are professional and friendly. The restaurant is well appointed and inviting. The food was amazing 👏 I highly recommend a visit.

Very popular tidy restaurant. Very friendly staff giving excellent recommendations when asked. They clearly understand and value what the chef is cooking. Worth the very long drive from Kerry to have this great experience.

Dinner was incredible! The food and service were 10/10 and Kaz in particular was amazing.

Service was great, food was ok, the chicken was so dry, I honestly think it was turkey. Sauces we're OK.

We went to the village (Donegal) without high expectations and only learned about the somewhat hidden restaurant from a local. The food was truly excellent, and the value for money was better than in most other Indian restaurants in Ireland. Highly recommended; we would definitely come back.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Ireland. Railway curry is excellent. Staff are brilliant.

Came here for dinner and had a lovely meal! The staff was very friendly and checked in regularly during the meal. We got some pappadams (an extra one too as a surprise!) with some chutneys and sauces. They were all delightful and we kept some to have with our mains too. The eggplant bhaji was smooth and creamy, and the eggplant was soft and soaked in the flavours well. The sauce for the chicken pathia was umami and it reminded me of Chinese style stirfry sauce! Love the setup to keep the curries warm. The quantities were plenty and I think half portion would have been sufficient if you're not very hungry. The naan was splendid too - soft and crispy at the same time. I gave the food 4 rather than 5 stars because, having grown up with Indian food, I'm used to a different flavour profile. The menu is catered to the local palate, which is understandable as it makes Indian food accessible to a wider audience.
