Patsy Dan's in Dunfanaghy

I was the only customer on a very quiet Thursday afternoon so no atmosphere to speak of (though I can imagine 10 pm on a Friday night would tell a different story). Excellent Guinness!

This review is not about the Pub itself, but the 'Outback', which is literally in a room/building behind the pub. Since it's called "The Outback - Patsy Dan's" I am posting this here. The pub looked welcoming and cozy. The Outback part has heigh ceilings and geometric seating arrangements. The bar is big to handle the many people that could fit the room. Atmosphere is a bit meh. There was an absolutely great live band, who played rock classics (did the same when I was a bit younger, I can assure you the band was outstanding). In a pretty full room with perhaps 50 or even 75+ people, nobody seemed to pay attention to the band. No clapping, not even really looking their way. Zero interaction between band and audience. I couldn't figure out why, my experience over my 10 days trip with live music elsewhere was very different. Bonus: No tickets or anything like that. You can get Rusty Oven Pizza there, they make a very good pizza ;)

Our favourite pub when we visit Dunfanaghy. Lovely outdoor areas for the sunny days and cosy pub interior for the rainy ones. Scraggy Bay on tap and great pints of Guinness, with the option to visit the Rusty Oven for dinner Friday-Sunday - what more could you ask for? And dog friendly inside and out too.

We were too early for food but the drinks and atmosphere were fantastic! Dog friendly and super cozy fireside seating.
