This place is definitely different. It is cool and alternative. We had nice drinks here, and the vibe and the people here were in all honesty just lovely. However, we went to a ticketed event here last night and were very disappointed with this, we left after 10 minutes. The woman manning the door to get upstairs also was rude and hostile. I will try this place again on a regular night, as I have consistently heard good things about Pharmacia.

Top notch spot. Not crowded on a Tuesday night but a relaxed, welcoming environment. Owner Ger is a true artisan with cocktails. A rock%alternatove music sound and really nice local kinda of place to grab a few pints.

Bella Italia Castletroy

08/04/2026: There's nothing wrong with Bella Italia, but there's certainly nothing right either. You walk in and you immediately get hit with decor and layout fit for Eddie Rocket's diner, not an Italian restaurant. I ordered the carbonara with side of garlic bread. It was €23.95. It was fine, but it's not €20 food, it's €15 euro served in a diner. The staff were lovely, the problem is with the owner that thinks their prices are competitive. For €20 main courses there's much better Italians in Limerick. I can't say there was anything wrong with my experience, but I won't be coming back.
07/02/2026: All five stars for the amazing restaurant in Thomas St However the Castletroy restaurant leaves a lot to be desired The manager with the glasses is loud and rude I was unable to get a bowl of soup on Wednesday 4th Feb as it was ten minutes to lunch time, three other people were sitting and eating , I was told only take away soup I walked , literally, next door to Hook n Ladder and the wonderful reception I got , given a table immediately and served soup, they were so busy, wonderful atmosphere, only three people sitting in Bella Italia , any wonder
