17/03/2026: Really central hotel, closer to everything. On arrival parking was scarce.. which is a good sign. Check in was smooth and seamless. A lovely cead mile faillte. Had dinner in the Marina, food was really good, great selection and very tasty, drinks menu was very nice too, unfortunately the Bord failte customer service doesn’t extend to the bar, evidently it was a cultural difference, while friendly and helpful, there’s no craic if ya get me. The rooms clean and beds so so comfortable, felt like I was in a cloud… it was so lovely the view from the room was comical… but I’m not complianing… I wasn’t there to be looking out a window!! The team and coffe station was just randomly placed on the safe…so maybe the tray was stolen or damaged and needs to be replaced, did it effect my sleep… absolutely not, but these are the small things that make the difference.
Breakfast in the morning while lacking that cead mile failte we were asked out room number and that was it… we gave the room number and the reply was OK… and we were left to seat ourselves and navigate our way around, not the way I was trained by CERT 30 years ago… god I feel old…. again did that impact the stay no!! The breakfast was plentiful, fresh, great selection, everyone is catered for, did we leave happy and full.. YES. Receptionist on check out, seemed to be a well seasoned staff member, not the most pleasant. Who knows maybe she has loads going on at the moment, so we just heaped burning coals on her head and smiled.
All in all a fab hotel. Will we be back? absolutely. Keep up the good work. The whole updates on WhatsApp is very clever when you check in too Ivy the virtual assistant we love her!
