Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin in Dublin

The first time we stayed at this hotel, the room was big and spacious. That's what we were expecting on our return. But we ended up with an end of the hall room, very small, the bed was against the wall, I could hardly get in after climbing over my husband. If they had told us the first visit that we had an upgrade, we we would not have been so disappointed. We came in late, due to our tour and were too tired to go down and try for another room. They said it was a queen deluxe but felt like a regular double. The room was clean and the staff very nice

Very good hotel. The only complaint is our room was a bit small for 2 people with large suitcases and the flooring is sticky. The staff were excellent. Special thanks to doormen Guillermo and Helmut. They went above and beyond to be helpful. We would definitely recommend it to any visitors to Dublin. Safe and walkable to all downtown amenities.

Lovely hotel in good location. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice - the sausages and black pudding were delicious. The food and service in the restaurant on an evening was really good. Staff were excellent and knew exactly what they were doing as it was busy. Prices were actually reasonable and the choice quite wide. The quality of the food was excellent particularly the seafood linguine. Service around the hotel was good without being too much although it was difficult to speak to anyone Irish. Reception was constantly busy which we didn’t mind although getting to speak to someone meant a queue. Bar was nice but very pricey, particularly the food (€19 for a round of sandwiches). Room was quite spacious but was in the “new” part of the hotel. This involved two lifts and quite a walk. Also, the view of a brick wall wasn’t ideal. The bin collection in the street at 6.45am wasn’t very good either. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. If we returned to Dublin there’s every chance we’d stay at the Gresham again.

ROOMS- up main elevator left out then right turn to next corridor, left turn and down long corridor, right into hall and quick left then 2nd Elevator down to "D". Left out to hall and another left down corridor down to our room. The actual building we ended up in was not part of the main hotel but a secondary bldg. attached via a alleyway crossover. Once we got to our room it was very adaquate...... but not worth the price. We certainly got oue exercise SERVICE. All staff are very friendly including breakfast staff but I would avoid the writters bar for meals. Tried it twice, first time slow but a good waitress; second time very very slow and after 3 other tables who came in after us got their meals our waiter showed up to say he did not know what happened to our order. We were going to leave but he said it would be right out. So we waited and waited and waited. Our waiter walked through the adjoining dining room a couple times but failed to make eye contact. So as we were about to leave again another gentleman showed up with our order and apologized saying they would give us a free desert. My wifes sandwitch was dried turkey on dried bread and my salmon poke was very underwealming; kinda what you would expect from the grocery store deli. So we didn't finish, nor did we want any desert; just paid our bill and left. LOCATION- excellent

Beautiful hotel, so inviting from the minute we arrived. Everyone we encountered was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Continental breakfast had a great variety of food for everyone to be happy. Rooms were nice, clean and comfy bed. Plenty of places to sit and relax in the lobby/bar area. Loved the location, close to everything and easy to walk,take the bus or luas depending on where you wanted to go. Bus stops right at your doorstep.

Our stay from 9 to 12 May, was unfortunately tarnished by an arrogant duty manager who showed very little courtesy or understanding of customer service. A day after checking in, we realised that the minibar fridge in our room was not cooling at all. We had stored insulin medication in it overnight and became understandably concerned that the medication may have been compromised due to the warm temperature. The unit also had a mouldy smell coming from it. When we contacted reception, we were transferred to the duty manager, who repeatedly insisted in a blunt and dismissive manner that “it is not a fridge, it is only a unit that keeps things cold.” We politely explained that we understood it was not a conventional refrigerator, however the issue was that it was not cooling whatsoever at all and felt warm inside. Instead of showing empathy or offering assistance, he continued arguing the same point over the phone, rather than simply arranging for someone to inspect the unit. Fortunately, we had booked another room for our children, and the minibar in that room was working properly, so we managed to move the medication there. The disappointing part was not only the faulty minibar, but the complete lack of courtesy and professionalism in handling a genuine concern involving important medication. A simple “I’ll send someone to check it for you” would have completely changed the experience. The hotel itself is in a good location, however the atmosphere inside the corridors felt more like a hospital than a hotel. The hallways also carried a strong chemical smell rather than a fresh or welcoming scent. Breakfast was average and underwhelming as well.

Good experience. Service is very good, friendly and helpful. The room is a bit small by North American standards but is quite comfortable and nicely appointed. Pretty good location. 20 minute walk to Temple Bar area, 15 minutes to the river.

Perfect location, close to everything...super attentive staff...I highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel's location is excellent; I walked around without ever taking public transportation. The rooms are clean, the staff is attentive (without my asking, they saw me struggling to put my umbrella in the plastic cover to keep the entrance from getting wet, and they helped me by doing it for me), and the breakfast is excellent. I tried the laundry service and everything went smoothly! I recommend this property.

A beautiful hotel i a perfect part of Dublin city staff and rooms were 1st class. Will definitely be returning. Thank you
