Rockhill house estate is a stunning place to stay! With a half mile private tree lined drive and electric gates which open up to a grand courtyard in front of the impressive building. Great rooms and service, wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

I recently shot a wedding last Saturday at RockHill and from start to finish the staff and management were amazing, the room turn around time from the civil ceremony to dinner was super fast and the grounds and room were in a flawless state, I have little requests when shooting weddings but the staff ensured everything was covered immediately and the bride and groom constantly mentioned to me how well and appreciated they felt on the day. The ground from photographer's perspective are amazing, the green arch and open gardens down to the modern and unique internal decor, both myself and the videographer had a mountain of areas to work from and the main room has open glass ceiling windows which allowed superb light into the area, I’m booked for another wedding in 2025 and hope more brides see the unique and beautiful building in all its glory to have one of the most amazing weddings ever! Maldron Hotel Portlaoise

23/10/2024: Didn't use hotel facilities but used some of food kitchens in food court and was very happy with coffee food ect. also find staff friendly and patient . Lovely place to take a break if travelling or just enjoy a newspaper and coffee.
22/10/2024: One of the most important things when you get to your room: it was clean. Both times I stayed here. Staff was friendly and breakfast was a highlight; Irish breakfast, porridge, fruits, gluten-free and non-dairy options available, pastries… There’s also a gym, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi available - two different entrances but you can get there through a corridor at the hotel’s ground floor Another high point was the proximity to a petrol station with fast-food, asian food and some other options to eat just 2 minutes walking from the hotel’s reception.

10/11/2024: Nice and quiet, food came out super fast and was delicious. The Doolin crab sandwich was not what I was expecting but it was very good, everything tasted very fresh, and the brown bread was great all on its own. I didn't realize when you ask for soda they automatically bring you the zero sugar kind, so the 7-Up was interesting but not my favorite. All in all, a terrific place to eat and enjoy yourself.

From the moment you walk in, the warm wood interiors and lively atmosphere make you feel cozy! What really sets this place apart is the music. They feature live performances most nights, with talented local musicians playing everything from classic Irish folk songs to upbeat jigs that get the whole crowd clapping along. The energy is relaxing and it’s impossible not to get swept up in the fun, this is a kind of place where strangers quickly become friends over a shared song. And the food—classic pub fare. But there menu has more than pub fare, I got the beef cheek, wow! This place will capture your heart and soul of an Irish pub better than any other place I’ve been to. Great music, welcoming vibe—don’t miss out on this gem! It is just north of the Cliffs of Mohr, around 10km. They sang “London Lullaby” and I will never hear it better again!
