Roots Café & Bistro, Loughrea in Loughrea legal town

Hands down the best full Irish breakfast around, nothing comes close, I would love to give 5 stars on that alone, But one Saturday we arrived at 11:45 and was told breakfast is finished, I’m a stickler for detail, so why advertise breakfast until 12? It should read “last orders for breakfast 11:30”, I ended up having to order from the afternoon menu, which was ok. if an establishment has a full Irish breakfast that good it should be an all day menu item..

Went on a Saturday. Food was good and most of the staff were lovely. One staff member’s attitude let the experience down but Still, I’d recommend it overall.

Michaela and the rest of staff are so welcoming and accommodating, we often have groups of 15+ for work lunches and they couldn’t be more helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Love love LOVE this restaurant!!! Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Such a clean place to eat. Food is always top notch. Coffee is delicious. Plenty free parking. As a customer trying to watch her weight I love the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with the side salad. But there are LOADS of tasty options on the menu for everyone’s taste. Highly recommend Roots for breakfast lunch or dinner. You won’t be sorry you visited and you will definitely call again. Love it !!! 🥰

Arrived just before menu changed from breakfast. We were handed the breakfast menu and kids were so excited deciding what to get only for a waitress to come over and tell us they're not serving breakfast anymore and handed us the afternoon menu. If this wasn't unprofessional enough we were then told that we had to wait 20 minutes for the chef to get ready for the new menu. I don't think this is the norm and I'm assuming they have a very unorganised chef or one that likes to show everyone they're the boss? Food was lovely as it always is in roots but the experience in this particular one (we normally go to Oranmore or Kilcolgan) left a sour taste and I wouldn't go back to Loughrea in a hurry.

At first I thought it was a small bit overpriced for Loughrea (versus Galway or Dublin €) but he food, friendliness and service is well worth it and generous, well cooked, well presented servings. Spacious and clean and wonderful light and view.

Staff are always so lovely in here and their new Power Salad is unreal !😍 Must try if your in Loughrea.
