Rudys Restaurant in Dublin

Lovely food, well marinated. Grilled chicken is amazing, and the fries also. friendly staff. The place is small and packed with tables and chairs, but not a big deal.

I'm impressed by the immens customer centric experience of this gem. A small, cosy restaurant with a handy menu and a diverse amount of drinks, cocktails, whine, and even custom ones that were not on the card like White Russian were pitched without issues. The starter—an onion soup—had a well-balanced taste of French mountains and the Irish touché, while I was sipping on the soup, I got flashbacks of a beautiful small town in France, where some French nanny was the cook. For the main, a steak, it was beyond delicious, and the meat melted on the tongue. To my surprise, the salad was so well-balanced it reminded me of the sweet summers in the beach of Germany. The chips ("French fries") were beyond delicious, crunchy, not too thick, and not too thin; the perfect size—the portion was as expected. The ambience and design of the restaurant were eye-catching, which I noticed while drinking the best coffee in my life and trying to interpret the painting in front of me. I would definitely recommend eating here again.

Unfortunately it’s a low food score. I ordered scallops. Unfortunately they were overcooked so slightly rubbery. Strip loin steak for mains, I ordered rare. Unfortunately overcooked. It was medium well. To be fair the staff handled it well. Apologised and I was served a new steak within 5 minutes. The new steak was cooked to my liking but just lacked seasoning. I absolutely love peppercorn sauce. However, again just lacked seasoning. It’s the first time I’ve actually used a pepper grinder to add more flavour to my sauce. I also think they either strain their sauce or the peppercorns were at the bottom of the pot they were heating it in. Service staff were excellent and attentive. Restaurant is a small intimate venue and wasn’t that busy. With an open kitchen, the chef didn’t look like he was enjoying himself. I always say “Happy chef, Happy food. Dessert was a sticky toffee pudding. Best part of the meal. Simple but delicious. Overall a slightly disappointing experience.

Nice little restaurant. Called ahead as we had no booking and was told that we can walk in as they can accommodate our party but upon arrival was told should have booked. Even though we were told to walk in. Service was terribly slow had to ask for water 3 times. Food was ok lamb was ok but very small portions. The chicken was extremely sweet. The risotto was very good and the fish was nice. Cocktails were decent

We have been to Rudy’s over the years for brunch but today was our first lunch visit. Hands down one of the best lunches we have had in Dublin, we ordered 2 steak sandwiches and everything was perfect. Such good value too considering we paid €80+ for the same in a well known steak house in town recently and it wasn’t anywhere near as nice,

Excellent friendly service Food delicious and very well presented.

Great breakfast/brunch place with very decent portions. Two kids enjoyed the available savory breakfast options and were not able to overcome the following pancake order that they shared. I had the eggs Benedict which was very good and followed it with French toast, which was very filling in and of itself but a bit soggy. Service was slow but overall good.

Never cesess to disappoint. The most amazing lamb dish cooked to perfection and served with creamy basel mash with mouth watering jus The wild mushroom risotto was perfectly cooked and served with a drizzle of truffle oil. Service was outstanding...well done to the Rudies team.

We were in Rudy's restaurant yesterday. I have to say the food was great. Best steak I've had in a long time. My wife Breid enjoyed the Monaghan Chicken, it too was so tasty. I'll be calling in again as I said the best food I've tasted in a restaurant for a long time.
