My husband and I spent two nights at Kells Bay House & Gardens. The garden is fantastic, there is a lot to explore and the grounds are very spacious. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean, which is very important to us. The boss and the staff are very friendly, courteous and do a great job (especially considering the size of the hotel)! The food is cooked by the boss herself and was very delicious and authentic. We felt well looked after and really enjoyed our stay there.
We have had the pleasure of staying here a few times and it never dissapoints. Exceptional location, fabulous customer service, divine Thai resturant and gorgeous cottage styled accommodation that provides all the comfort you could possibly need. We will be back again and look forward to it.
A really beautiful garden with lots of dinosaur carvings. There is also a great rope bridge. Please note: Tickets must be purchased online in advance and then redeemed in the café.
The Thai food is excellent, but the gardens are a big disappointment. The waterfall walk is overgrown and dangerous. Weeds including brambles have taken hold and there are very few labels to tell you what the plants are. There are some wooden model dinosaurs, but these are rotting away.
Great dinner after exploring the gardens. I don't eat spicy food but was easily able to find a meal that appealed to me and was excellent. We also ordered the variety of appetizers. Portions were very large. Not a large restaurant by any means. Would recommend getting a reservation especially if it's a nice day.
