The botanical garden was recommended to us on the Ring of Kerry route. We were there at the beginning of March and unfortunately the gardens didn't look very well maintained. Some of the paths were not clear and there was dried grass everywhere. So it was rather sobering and not worth the price of €9.50 per person.

Tranquil setting. Peaceful ambiance. Stunning views. Amazing plants from all around the world. Incredible food and wine. We stayed two nights, loved the room we were in, ate every meal at the Sala Thai restaurant onsite and explored the gardens. We were in awe of the diverse, abundant and vibrant plant life. We walked the rope bridge. We explored the beach. We relaxed and felt like we escaped to an oasis. Maybe part of the allure is its “off the beaten path location”. But as we explored the area by car we found we were close to amenities and more stunning historical sites plus the gorgeous Cliffs of Kerry. Kells Bay House and Gardens are a must see and stay. A true gem operated by an amazing husband and wife team. The food shows passion as do the gardens.

Kells bay & gardens is a little paradise in Ireland. Regardless of the season or weather, you can always have a wonderful time there. The gardens delight with unusual varieties of flowers, different ones bloom in every season. The palm forest adds warmth, tropicality and an egzotic atmosphere. The waterfall is breathtaking, especially in spring, even during rainy weather it looks magical and the rope bridge is an incredible challenge. We have spent holidays and other important occasions there with friends many times. The rooms are elegant, stylish and spacious, and a fireplace with a real fire gives an extraordinary atmosphere, especially on a rainy day. Amazing Thai cuisine, wonderful duck, delicious fresh seafood immersed in curry sauce, and the dessert is bananas in cake that melt in your mouth and caress your senses of taste. A unique & natural place. 🔝

My husband and I spent two nights at Kells Bay House & Gardens. The garden is fantastic, there is a lot to explore and the grounds are very spacious. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean, which is very important to us. The boss and the staff are very friendly, courteous and do a great job (especially considering the size of the hotel)! The food is cooked by the boss herself and was very delicious and authentic. We felt well looked after and really enjoyed our stay there.

A really beautiful garden with lots of dinosaur carvings. There is also a great rope bridge. Please note: Tickets must be purchased online in advance and then redeemed in the café.
