Loved this place! Reminded me of Steak & Shake in the states. Food was close to American but just different enough to let you know you're in Ireland! Would definitely visit again if I ever get back to Galway.

We actually went here by mistake, but we will definitely be back. The atmosphere of an American bistro is perfect, the food is amazing and the prices are right. Local shaks are a chapter unto themselves. Thick, giant, served in a stainless steel "cup", so it stays cold throughout the meal, and with whipped cream on top. I had a KitKat and ended up eating large pieces of the cookie with a fork. Brčko was not enough for them :-D On the second visit, we tried Dot dog and wings. Both again great. The restaurant confirmed that it is really worth stopping here for a proper meal. By the way... They have their own ketchup and mustard on the tables. Not started. Not because they were newly added, but simply because the guests like the food as it is prepared and do not need any added sauces.

Gaslight Brasserie

23/09/2024: I tried to go to the Gaslight Brasserie, but when I got there they said it was closed. Google said it was open! I’m giving it 5 stars for honestly gaslighting me.
16/07/2024: Myself and my husband ate at the Gaslight on Saturday evening at 8pm. We were married in the hotel in 2018, but lots of change since then. The new layout to the Gaslight really feels much more like a restaurant with the bar no longer so close to you in the middle. It seems logical to have it as a more luxury dining experience, then Oyster bar for a drink, or MacNeils for more causal dinner and drink. It made so a much more intimate setting. We requested a window seat, and were given a beautiful booth. Sitting at 8pm, it was still glorious outside, and the restaurant was filled with light which was beautiful. Staff were friendly and attentive. The menu and food itself really has had a massive relaunch! We were wowwed with each course. The presentation, attention to detail, and such bursting fresh flavour was fabulous. For starters we had Oysters, Sea Bass crudo and Beef Tartare. All delicious! For mains I had a cod & prawn mosaique with saffron risotto. An unexpectedly hearty portion, so well presented. My hubby had the fillet of beef, which he declared better than a few top eateries around, very high praise indeed! Well done to new Head Chef Dominique Majecki and team on an exciting fresh start!

PoppySeed at Galway Crystal

20/08/2024: Way over priced for what you get. I paid €17 for black pudding and 2 poached eggs on muffin and Americano.
