19/01/2025: I visited the Leisure Dome today for my son’s birthday with 6 kids and 3 adults. We spent over €350 on games and lunch and brought a small cake to celebrate. However, a staff member told us we weren’t allowed to have the cake there because there’s a designated birthday room for celebrations. Unfortunately, the birthday room was fully booked. If it had been available, I would have gladly used it since it would have been cheaper and more convenient. This experience left me very frustrated. It’s the first time something like this has happened to me in Dublin. Usually, you’re allowed to bring a cake to any restaurant, and staff even store and serve it for you. To make matters worse, the coffee shop had only three staff working on a busy Sunday, so every order took a long time. For example, it took 10 minutes to get three cappuccinos, and there wasn’t even a queue. As a mother, I felt awful being treated like I was taking advantage of the venue just for trying to celebrate my son’s birthday. When they asked me not to serve the cake, I had already brought disposable plates and everything we needed. We even cleaned the table before and after using it. This whole experience was deeply disappointing. I hope this review can help other families in the future. Thank you.
