Shanahan's on The Green in Dublin

Plush surroundings with open fires and old world charm. Well organised and laid out with plenty of space and comfort. Excellent polite and proactive service by delightful staff. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Presentation was thoughtful and imaginative. Only complaints were that all of the main course and side dishes were warm rather than piping hot. Steak was cooked to perfection. Prices are on the high side even for Dublin but understandable given the owner’s intention of exclusivity. So convenient too near the Luas on St Stephen’s Green. Would definitely go again.

Traveling from the US: the food, service, menu selection and wine was absolutely amazing. The price is reasonable for the quality, the owner was walking around and sincere to everyone enjoying dinner. If I return to Dublin, I will also return HERE. LOVED the Oval Office bar downstairs that’s separated from the restaurant, amazing!!

Went in as a group of 4. Absolutely incredible experience. Friendly staff, very helpful and the food was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection. Loved getting to meet John Shanahan as well

Had a ribeye here the other evening and it was superb, great food and care taken ,left very happy.

Great place to treat yourself or impress someone.

Great building, great music, great wine, great service, great onion strings, and of course, great steak!

Don't serve e.g Moretti in a standard pint glass, you are charging premium prices. During dinner, more attentive with water and wine poring. Majority of.staff were very friendly
