Lovely staff and activities onsite . Beautiful location

It's a dream hotel, in a beautiful location, and the staff are fantastic. They made us feel right at home. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, which was a great choice, as the food was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our English isn't very good, and they immediately found Spanish-speaking staff to give us the information we needed. At reception, the two employees were very kind and helpful. Jaime was absolutely delightful; he made our stay easy and went out of his way to help us. Thank you so much, Jaime, and I also want to thank the waiters in Marbella and the lovely waitress at dinner.

Updated- the management acknowledged the issues and agreed that the suites are due for renovation. They comped our food during the day and were receptive of our comments. —————— The best way to describe this hotel is old, tired and uninspiring. It’s past its prime which is clear from the moment you walk in. We booked a view suite for $1100/nt and it was stale, smelly and musty. When asked to change, the manger asked if wanted to upgrade for a charge. Funny enough the our suite on their website today for $480, and the next level for $550. We had already paid $1100 for the same so declined to pay anymore so the manager moved us down one level to a non-view suite with similar old grandma furniture but thankfully without the musty smell. The bathroom, while seemingly updated, has water drain issues and the sink tap does not hold in place. The one dinner we had at The Stable restaurant was just as dull as the hotel. The cappuccino at the bar was listless. Overall, a terrible value, mediocre stay, and a rare disappointment from the relais chateau chain. DO NOT RECOMMEND and never coming back again.

While the setting of the lodge is undeniably beautiful and one of the most breathtaking views we'd ever experienced, the overall service and dining experience fell far short of expectations, especially given the cost of the stay. Pros - The rooms and views were absolutely stellar and truly spectacular. - Joyce, the horseback riding instructor, was kind, professional and accommodating. Cons - Dining at The Falls was extremely disappointing. Despite our group’s wide appreciation for all types of cuisine, from approachable pub fare to Michelin star dining, every course had unbalanced flavors, very small portions, and was not worth the price. The serving staff also came across as dismissive and inattentive. - Coordinating horseback riding (six weeks in advance!) was clumsy and frustrating. I received conflicting responses from multiple staff members, and ultimately my requested date was denied. When I mentioned that I had been told the lodge could not accommodate my requested date, Joyce was shocked and explained that she is available seven days a week and had been fully open on that day. The lack of a centralized guest services staff member resulted in confusion, slow responses, and service that did not meet the standard expected for the cost of the stay.

Right out of a story book. Beautiful destination with one-of-kind activities on site. Archery and falconry were excellent experiences!
