All in all it's not bad. We didn't find any other restaurants nearby, and this one is mostly a take away. However, the food is not bad, even if the environment could be improved.
Living fairly locally I know what to expect from Sizzlers. It's a pity it seems to be putting itself out there as a fine dining restaurant because the fact is that it is the local chipper. Anybody expecting a fine meal with garnishes is going to be disappointed but if you're starving and desperate for something to eat, Sizzlers will fit the bill. The portions are big and filling, the food is plain, it's not the worst and it's not the best. Depending on who is in the kitchen the quality can vary massively. Some of the staff are lovely, others can be downright rude if they don't know the customer. Sizzlers is an eatery for locals, the extremely hungry or those not worried about calorie counting to fill their stomachs! They are usually keen to please if they can but I think that people wanting/expecting a fine dining experience would be better advised to travel onto the Erris hotel in Geesala or one of the hotels in Belmullet. Sizzlers is a chipper that occasionally serves up a large tasty dish of Irish stew & cabbage or similar but don't bank on it! Always ring ahead if you're intending to dine at Sizzlers to enquire what they have on offer rather than just arriving.
